[ARCBIO. part 01]

The portfolio was finished and published a long time ago and now got the time to edit and post some of the key pages on web.

ARCBIO is an ‘Architectural Auto-Biography’ which contains every moment since I ever started to think and study about architecture; it has all the works from the studio, editorial & graphic design, product design, and others.

First, the two programs (cemetery and library) are separate and placed horizontally.

Then these two programs meet vertically in the main building for sharing and communicating between the two users.

The site was once a football stadium in the middle of the Hyochang Park. The park is a place where people who fought for the Korean independence are barried. 

The site lost its meaning and this project tries to bring the cemeteries back into the city with a library, and also bring back the site’s original meaning.

It is place for memory (death, cemetery) and records (life, library), making the place an ‘archive’

Jeoldu Mountain is a sacred land of the Catholic in the middle of Seoul.

My last student architecture project would be about a charnel house where people pray for one’s loss but also for the new born.

<RAUM, The Unbuilt 20th Century>, Architecture Talk Concert_Poster

This poster is for a lecture on modern architecture.

Unlike most of Korean lectures, this talk concert’s stage is set up to look like a room with some sofas, table, and floor lamp; the concept is to form a more comfortable atmosphere between the lecturer and audience.

b.arc Product Design_Beyond Lighting(b.light)

I have introduced this product design during the last two posts on my blog. 

Now, b.light really came to life and is now being crowd funded on tumblbug.com which is a Korean version of Kick Starter.

For those of you who don’t know, b.light is a hanger and light that sticks to any wall made by a small team of young architecture students.

Once this funding project turns out to be successful, the money will be for a total design exhibition (fashion, graphic design, art, crafts, architecture, etc.) next year.

this product design is a cube capable of being a hanger and light that sticks to any wall.
