Since there's only one God and Darkness in the whole multiverse, and Amara is now free, why The Mark continue to exist in another universes?
That's a better question for one of them, I think. Keep in mind, while this is (I believe it to be, anyways) the prime universe, where Aunt Amara was originally locked up... my father has created many different universes, which he alone controls.
In other universes, the Mark may be something other than the key to Amara's cage. In another universe, it may be simply a curse given to Cain by God, as the Bible says it is.

I don't actually know. They were created before me, and all I know of them is that they are dangerous. Father used to tell Lucifer and I that if we strayed too far from heaven, the shediem would catch us and tear us apart. As fledgelings, we were terrified of them.
