Sir Eoin knew that look. The one where Lily was telling him he was a dunderhead but she loved him, and as soon as she touched his face, he was taken back. Back to the early days when they would lay together in any bed or private space in the woods they could find. He would tell her about living without the use of his legs and she wouldnât coddle him, but she did turn into the love of his life in the game, which made him soft. Lily had influenced him greatly, which was why heâd follow her anywhere, even if they were no longer lovers.
Smiling, Sir Eoin embraced her as she spoke of Ludus and the new players. âIâve been spending time in Therevell, trying to convince our NPC King to allow the ânew peasantsâ to enter his kingdom.â Rolling his eyes, Sir Eoin continued, âAnd I just came back here to check on my own plots and see our stores. I want to know what we have to spare to feed and clothe the new ones. Something better than what we were provided with when we first spawned.â
As he embraced her, she nuzzled softly into his neck. Part of her wondered what itâd be like if they ever did escape this place, but she also knew and understood why he didnât want to escape. He could walk, fight. Of course, she was sure he was capable even without movement in his legs -- but it did not good unless he believed that as well.
âYou think theyâd have designed this game to eagerly take in ânew peasantsâ since theyâre the ones forcing them here,â she huffed. âYeah. Guinea pigs donât get a lot of support, do they?â
