archangelwarden:
As he embraced her, she nuzzled softly into his neck. Part of her wondered what it’d be like if they ever did escape this place, but she also knew and understood why he didn’t want to escape. He could walk, fight. Of course, she was sure he was capable even without movement in his legs – but it did not good unless he believed that as well.
“You think they’d have designed this game to eagerly take in ‘new peasants’ since they’re the ones forcing them here,” she huffed. “Yeah. Guinea pigs don’t get a lot of support, do they?”
Sir Eoin breathed in the scent of Lily as she pushed to his neck. She was always pleasant to his senses. He missed her, there was no mistaking. His love hadn’t waned, but there wasn’t time for such things with the droves of new gamers. Sir Eoin reluctantly pulled himself back from the embrace. His hands didn’t leave her sides immediately as they stood there, making eyes at each other.
“You would think,” Sir Eoin agreed with a chuckle as he smiled at Lily. “I would house them in the castle, but I think that might be disastrous. Remember how eager we were when we started?”
Then, as if on cue, Gabriel huffed and yawned at Sir Eoin’s side, which made him break eye contact with Lily and look down to his faithful dog. “Well, are you feeling ignored?” Sir Eoin asked with a chuckle. He looked to Lily and gave her a facetious pout. “He says that you’re beautiful. A dog knows better than I do.”
