it’s not weird to find fanfiction from 2021, or 2017, or 2014 that you’ve never read and actually taking your time to read it.

it’s not weird to love it and comment and leave kudos because the author will probably still see it someday and it will make them happy.

it’s not weird to like said author’s work so much that you want to go look for other fics from them.

it’s not weird to go through the authors profile and look for other fics from the ships you like (or maybe some that you’ll give a chance because you liked the author) and maybe bookmark them for later.

it’s not weird to read these other fics and like them too and comment on them because you actually like them and you want to let the author know.

it’s not weird to read fanfiction from 5, or 8, or 10 years ago and actually enjoy and engage with it because it’s perfectly normal to relate to something that’s less than a decade old!

let’s stop treating fanfiction like they’re instagram posts that stop being interesting in 24 hours! fanfiction is NOT social media, fanfiction is art!!! and art doesn’t get old in one day, one year, or even a decade!

read fanfiction! write fanfiction! comment on fanfiction! let’s not let fanculture die people!!!!!

I love the clone wars but making my sweet innocent (possibly Muslim coded) girl a terrorist was fucking insane on their part.

Also I love that terrorism, bombing, choking someone to death is acceptable plot for a children’s tv show in 2008 but a barrishoka kiss would’ve been a threat to national security and never happened.

who do you think Barriss’s Padawan would be in a No Order 66/ No Bombing AU?

I would love if her Padawan was Jax, from The Bad Batch S3

For one he's a Mirilian and it seems mirilians had negotiated with the Jedi somehow for the children that are taken as padawans to have Mirilian Masters so they keep their culture alive, even away from home, and Barriss & Luminara as padawan and master fit into it very well. They have their tattoos and traditional clothing, Barriss has a godlike figure in her room that she prays for during the wrong Jedi arc...

It's clearly a very strong trait for their lineage.

But you could just peak any Mirilian if that was the only reason. Jax is special (to me) because of his personality. Because he's hot-headed. He's the only child in Tantiss we see fighting imperials (besides omega) and while the other kinda give up scaping I get the feeling Jax is the one that kept trying over and over again. He even gets in a solitary confinement for it.

Also he's the one that answers when Omega asks if the people at the base are always watching them, he's clearing paying attention, at least more than the others. But he's also impulsive and doesn't had the patient to come up with a plan

Then I think about Dependable Barriss, that memorized all the Geonosis Tunnels to destroy a droid factory. Barriss that avoids confrontation like it's a plague and ended up framing her girlfriend for murder because she couldn't speak her mind openly and own up her mistakes. Barriss plans three steps ahead of herself. And I think of her taking care of impulsive angry boy over here and just can't stop thinking about how their dynamic would look like.

Off course that Jax acts the way he do because of the situation he's in during The Bad Batch, but I like to think he would still have some of this traits in a happy Barriss AU.

I actually come up with a little story how how they would meet and it technically works even in a cannon route, it would just be extremely sad considering how Barriss and Jax end up in different paths.
