☽✩☾ Character Introductions - Origins ☽✩☾
Here are my Canon Dragon Age Origins run, to be updated as I playthrough with my Wardens. Tae Tabris and Serafina Cousland.
Warning: Illusions to The City Elf origin, familial death - child death (nephew), illusions to struggles with fertility.
Sorry if this is messy and confusing. I tried to get my thoughts down before I forgot them.
Serafina Cousland is a Human Rogue. She is romancing Alistair and they will be becoming king and queen together (because of Tae - Neither of them really wants it.)
Anyway Tae Tabris is my Elven Mage, romancing Morrigan (using the Equal Love Mod). Yes she is a city elf, thanks to the non-circle mage mod.
They both have Mabaris. Serafina has Thane, her childhood hound and Tae has Wrex, who she got the flower for in Ostagar.
Throughout the game Serafina has a side goal of killing Howe at some point. She assumes it will have to be AFTER the blight, but she kills him while saving Anora. She believes his death will releave her of her grief, that when he's dead and her family avenged, everything will be fine within her and she doesn't have to actually work through what happened and ever think about that night again. Of course that does not happen and she does have to go through her grief, talking to Alistair about it, since she was letting him put all his issues on her and now he realises why she never really talks about before she was a warden.
I imagine that at somepoint between healing Arl Eamon and the Landsmeet, Alistair tries to ask Serafina to marry him. Or maybe before the battle. But when is not the point. The point is Alistair is there, stumbling his way through this proposle, doing his absolute best, and then theres Serafina who can tell what he's asking, and is just patiantly waiting for him to finally get to the point so she can say yes.
Tae is an apostate mage that lived in the alienage her whole life. And she really does not want to get married, because the idea of being tied to a man for the rest of her life feels... wrong. But after everything happens with The Arl's son and she inevitably kills him, she wishes she'd sucked it up and married him instead of spending the whole lead up hoping for something to take her away.
Tae is the reason that Alistair and Serafina end up on the throne. She doesn't mind Anora and doesn't think anything could go wrong with her on the throne. But she knows Alistair and Serafina. And she knows they have seen first hand how Alienages are in Fereldan and how mages are treated. And she knows that if they're on the throne, she might have the chance to get better living conditions for at least elfs, if she can't for her fellow mages.
Both Tae and Serafina both become the Hero of Fereldan through killing the Archdemon together in a scene that is so cool in my head. Because of how they did this, and Tae doing the ritual with Morrigan allowing them to survive. It becomes believed by other Wardens that they survived through the soul being absorbed by two wardens dealing the killing strike together, meaning they both absorbed half the soul.
They also both take on the title of Warden Commander. I imagine recruits taking this in a 'ask your mother, she already said no? then no' direction sometimes. But most of the time if one Commander says something, the recruits listen until they get new orders. It's usally younger and newer recruits that attempt to get around one commander using the other, though they quickly learn how in sinc they are.
They spend most of Origins working together and making joint decisions. So far the only time I have planned for them not to make a decision together is making Alistair King with Serafina as Queen.
Once witch hunt comes along, Tae leaves with Morrigan to be with her and their son (because I truely believe that it isn't a stretch to say a ritual to take a old god's soul into a fetus after insuring that in one night they get pregnant, can let one woman get another pregnant.) She sends a letter to Serafina, explaining why she wont be around for a long while.
Serafina completly understands. Especially with what happened to her family. She only has her brother (and maybe nephew if I can figure out how to write him in) and she takes what little time she has with him, and would never want to take time Tae has with her family way from her.
The two have a minimal amount of contact between each other as Tae raises her son with Morrigan. Just updating eachother on their lives, Tae sending sketches Kieran (and sometimes Morrigan) and any really important warden duties that Serafina needs Tae's approval of too.
By the time of Inquisition both Serafina and Tae are out searching for a way to stop the calling. I'm not sure if I want Serafina to have a kid by then or not. So her motivations are either to keep herself and Alistair alive so they don't lose each other, and (assuming they don't have one) so that they can finally have a child together, since it's been 10 years of trying.
