The Spaniard’s voice was low, only barely interested, not even turning to turn to look back at his uninvited company. He had to admit, he had not been expected to be interrupted. Not many succeeded in getting far enough to do so.

After a moment he finally looked, glancing over his shoulder. There was a pause. Silva gave an amused hum, fully turning to face him.

"And an Avenger, no less?" 

He chuckled, taking a step across the room.

Clint drew the bowstring taught as Silva took a step forward.

"Uh uh. Not another step." He'd been harder to track down than the others, but Clint was always up for a challenge, especially when revenge was on the plate.   SHIELD was in pieces, scattered to the wind. The place that had been his home, his life, for well over a decade was gone. And in some ways he'd helped it happen. Like Natasha, Clint has also hoped to turn over a new page by joining SHIELD. Hell, he'd gotten her into it. How much of what they'd done had really been for HYDRA? How had they contributed to tearing it all down?

No, no one had sent Clint to do this, not this time. Not SHIELD, not the Avengers. This time was for him.
