A stop animation made by us. Always spot your friends... and your enemies.
Here is another video of life being a dirtbag in Hawaii. Thanks to the United States Army; I purchased a Canon 5D Mark III. I am still learning how to use it. Its the most serious camera I have owned yet. The Video was mostly filmed on The north shore of Oahu and a little at OZ. I'm not really fond of OZ which is central Oahu. Rock is Rock. Unless its dogshit. hope you enjoy the new camera as much as I do. - Phil Langford
"48 Straight Hours of work and fun."
The new Volcanic gym is located in town at 432 Kaka aka street Honolulu Hi. A new climbing community is soon to be born again on oahu, and I am psyched for all those people who live in town and want to get strong. They no longer Have to drive twenty minutes to the original gym. It has a lot of potential. It is expected to open end of April 2013.
I am thankful to have had the opportunity to help build two gyms and a big ass wall on the North Shore in Hawaii. The first one took a little longer, but was worth it in the end. The new gym pictured above is coming along quicker thanks to all the volunteers psyched to climb, and none of the weirdness involved in building the last gym.
The climbing Ohana (family) that was born is something I will never forget and will surely miss. I can't think of a group of people willing to help one another so quickly without hesitation. I barely found that in my five years in the army.
People come and go due to us living on hawaii. Some stay from a few days to a few Years, but the connections and friendships I have made will last forever. I thank the gym and everyone for dealing with my shit. I Hope this new Volcanic Rock Gym Will do the same once again.
Cutting through the mushy bullshit, I'm saying thank you Hawaii climbers and VRG.
and for the plugs : follow the gym and climbing updated on instagram thru @hiboulder @hiroture @philthyl @volcanicrockgym

I still can't grasp what the fascination with climbers and cats. This picture about sums it up. I love cats too, but some people really love cats. I am not hating at all. I'm just a little confused.
Dave graham, this picture is amazing.
Barely... Phil Langford on a Classic in Jagger Valley - A new climbing area in Oahu. More pictures on our facebook page----> https://www.facebook.com/archfuture?ref=hl
Shlabby topout for Franco Gallardo on Northern Whale V6 at Green Boulders, Oahu, HI.

Happy M A.R.C.H. everyone!
One of us is not like the other.
My new Canon 5D mark III finally came in. I am learning how to use it. This camera is extremely futuristic. Here are some pictures of Hiro Watanabe, Matt Lutey and myself bouldering it up at Sacred's. Cut me some slack if you think the photos suck. I just upgraded a few days ago. I am not exactly sure what half of the camera's buttons do. -- Enjoy! --

Largest group on the island to go out and climb. Fun times! Psyched! Plus Franco Gallardo who took the picture.
Sometimes its not worth cleaning. Banyan tree covering a boulder in hawaii.

Check out our new video! Hope you all enjoy it.
This post is dedicated to one of the sickest and biggest boulders on the island!
The lines on this massive chunk of rock are super classic with terrifying topouts on a slightly overhung 30 ft boulder. Local climber Matt Lutey got the FA on the left arete (Saiyan v2) and on the right face (Super Saiyan v7). Many climbers have made it to the lip, or close to it. But each problem has only been repeated once because of the sketchy topouts. (Saiyan v2 repeated by Miguel Casar; Super Saiyan v7 repeated by Hiro Watanabe)
The line up the middle is still a project. Mainland climber, Miguel Casar projected the middle route and said it's about v10. He never got to finish the line in his short stay on the island but got further than anyone else has. He did make us feel better about us being pussies with the height by saying that the falls he was taking on this were scarier then the falls he took on evilution. (Link to someone climbing evilution in Bishop, CA --> https://vimeo.com/16307469)
Any takers?
pictures in order : Hiro on the project, Kristen Feato working Super Saiyan v7, and Matt Lutey on Super Saiyan V7
Justin Ridgely working a very hard project at the arch. Amazing climbing out there! I reallly want to get back out on this bad boy. Anyone wanna play?
