So there's this tweet that people on twitter really dont like and I keep seeing qrts about -

And I need to not talk abt anything critically or analyze at all on Twitter bc it's always like talking to a brick wall

But I do think it's sad that so many fans got annoyed with that and thought it was downplaying their relationship cuz like... Obviously they're not Mortal Enemies. Obviously they do not capital H Hate each other.

You don't go bring your mortal enemy something to keep him safe. You don't look at your mortal enemy with mild annoyance and accept something they give you without extreme suspicion.

You don't use your mortal enemy's gift to you and wonder why he didn't simply tell you why he gave it to you.

Anyway I needed to get that out my system. Obviously they have history we haven't seen yet, likely due to them both being apprentices of wises; they probably have some level of familial dislike for each other due to Easthies' master having never wanted Beldaruit to take in Qifrey. Cousins who don't see eye to eye in a way. But ofc twitter users cannot hold space for any sort of nuance.

EDIT: Don't be like the other weirdo in my comments and come arguing at me that because that user ships something it means that anything they say about characters is invalid. Every QRT I saw were people insisting that tweet was downplaying the 'animosity that Qifrey holds for Easthies.' Clearly there isn't true animosity between them, clearly they do care to some degree about each other that they would trust each other like that and that Easthies would go out of his way to try and help Qifrey stay safe. Just because someone ships something you don't like does not mean anything they say is unfounded. I have 0 interest in Easthies as a character and can still clearly tell people are mad about the tweet for the wrong reasons. This person is clearly not saying they're flirting and no other tweet from them shows that they honestly think Easthies x Qifrey is canon. Also the "oh he's a cop the user is licking cop's boots" shit sounds the same as when I had to see users on Twitter legitimately insist that they hate Tartah because he metaphorically sexually assaulted Coco and I have a headache today and can't put up with seeing anyone say that dumbass shit right now
