NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE
Probably one of the most well-known castles, it's located in Germany. Its construction began in 1869 by order of Bavaria’s King Louis II, also known as “Mad King Ludwig” and it was never finished. The castle stands tall at 65m of height atop a rock ledge over the Pöllat Gorge in the Bavarian Alps. The castle is widely known for being the inspiration behind the Sleeping Beauty's castle. Its "cylindrical towers" and Romanesque style made it the perfect architectural model for both Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.
