|thereâs no place for salvation| noah & elena.
misterblackwell:
Humans have always obsessed over immortality, whether they were born of magic or not. Heâd met several of them in his lifetime, all were refused and their lives cut short by their quest, however, Noah had no inkling of how Elenaâs story intertwined with his, not until tonight.
âI need to be like you, I canât stand growing old beside herâŠplease! I hate waking up every morning and seeing her like thisâŠthis unchanging creature while IâmâŠthis. Make me immortal!â
Noah glanced at Elena as she spoke of falling for a witch who wanted to be immortal, he recalled an incident with a witch who had been so desperate that he tracked the Original vampire, demanding to be turned. As always, he refused but this one did not take no for an answer and attacked him, casting spell after spell. He sounded like a mad man, spouting nonsense about immortality and love.
Noah ripped his heart out and left his body to be devoured by animals.
âThisâŠman,â even the vampire had a hard time calling Elenaâs lover that for what kind of man would be so pathetic, âWhat did he look like?â
The question threw Elena off completely and she had to think for a moment. âHe was tall,â so was she, but Rafe had been at least her height. âbut lanky. Dark hair, green eyes. Has a small freckle under his eye.â She rattled off information, giving him a confused look. For a few moments, Elena just sipped her beer, her gaze skimming across the lake. Up ahead, a few birds chirped. She sighed.Â
It was slowly killing her, the unknown, and often Elena had thoughts about what had happened. Bear attack. Car accident. Some sort of accident; the Rafe she fell in love with couldnât have been murdered. He was warm and made her heart thud every time she looked at him. âI wanted to marry him.â
