Contemplation

Comforting lies vs Unpleasant Truth

Most people don't really want the truth. They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is true.

Having to face unpleasant truth, especially about oneself, requires a humility and honesty few can accept. But those who do, by His grace and mercy undeserving grow, mature and change for His glory.

The real struggle, rejection of the false image we have of ourselves and the comforting lies we build around us like a fortress to pass the days in ease and make excuses for stubborn habits that in all reality reveals temporal slothfulness.

It is therefore incumbent upon those who profess a faith and hope in Christ Jesus to endure, struggle and strenuously strive in accepting our unpleasant truths on the path of salvation, peeling away these layers of dead skin and being renewed in the Spirit daily, humble, filled with gratitude and love.

God bless the struggler whom embraces their unpleasant truth!
