Whenever people ask me "why don't you know xyz, it's so popular" well see it's because
I literally live in south east asia
Do I need to do this too?
[Image Description: The first image is of a world map. It has the US circled with text that says: "I am not from here." The second image is a screenshot of tags that say: "you can tell OP is european, cuz their map is centered on europe, maybe african". The third image is the same map from the first image, now with Europe circled and text that says: "Also not here". End Image Description]
the nice thing about that last map is it shows just how relatively small those two areas are

you freaks are gonna "do whatever you want forever" your way into a broken nose one of these days
my 100% failproof way to handle reactionaries asking why i don’t shave at all is going “because i don’t want to” it works because what they really want is an argument about the merits of feminism, and they’ll draw it out and try to convince you it’s a cult or whatever, but you can avoid it all by sticking to “i just don’t wanna. don’t feel like it” and if they argue with you about it you can use your ultimate ability, which is “i’m sorry i thought it was a free country?” which, believe me, they cannot come back from. they’ll either drop it or start harping on something you didn’t say, and it’s important you don’t take the bait at that point. when they can’t argue with what you say, they assume your beliefs and attack those. and you crucially must be visibly baffled at their change of direction because it will make them seem and possibly feel crazy (which they are). “i don’t want to shave” is a perfect response because truly it all comes down to autonomy and the ability to do what you want. they’ll try to say “feminism makes you think you have to do that” and it’s important to not take that bait. to reiterate that you don’t know what they mean and you just don’t like shaving and that it’s really weird to look into it that deep. this works i promise
If someone asks that to me I'm gonna say
" I thought this was a free country?"
And I wanna get my mom's reaction from that
i’ve used it dozens of times and it’s almost always a finishing move. godspeed👍

heres the thing. i enjoy well done heavy subject matter, you can look at my track record of interests as evidence for that, but i do think writers who wont shut up about how complicated and controversial they are for including ~dark themes~ in their writing need to a christmas carol style be forced to sit down and watch all 4 seasons of 13 reasons why to see what happens if you try to incorporate a bunch of heavy stuff in your work with 0 research or regard for people affected
slight clarification: people in the tags are saying "yea there needs to be levity between heavy moments for a story to be effective", which is also very true! but not what this post is about. this post is about how if you write about abuse and murder and oppression but you dont actually know what youre talking about or have a purpose for including it beside shock value and proving how mature you are your work will read like it was written by a twelve year old
Everywhere I go I see the dogwhistles ped*ph*les use and it's a nightmare... I mean, thank god I can recognize when someone is a danger to children, but it's distressing that so many people online get off to abuse and think they're the victim when someone calls it fucked up, esp when it's survivors saying "your fetish directly caused me to get abused" and they cover their ears and scream puritan...
I bring a sort of "too many of you really despise CSA survivors" vibe to this website that Tumblr users don't really like.
You survive one of the most traumatizing things a child can go through and all you get in exchange is people telling you that your public existence is making it less fun for them to jerk it. To your trauma.
also can’t get over that guy who said he WOULD just identify as a straight trans man but he doesn’t like straight women/thinks straight dating is “icky” so he identifies as a lesbian so he can date lesbians. how am i supposed to react to a guy saying that with his whole chest. what am i supposed to say to that
> post talks about how people have no respect or empathy for PEOPLE in the global south
> a fucking moron on here makes it about how people have no respect or empahy for animals
