Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is on fire. I’m not posting a pic bc it depresses me too much to look at it but here’s a source if you need one. Some things:

The fire started because of renovation work. It’s an accident, as far as anybody knows.

Because of the renovation work, a lot of the art (statues and things like that) in the cathedral had already been removed. Firefighters are working to save as much as possible

The stonework will probably survive 

This isn’t the first time the cathedral has been damaged. It’s 900 years old, and France has had a pretty bloody history in that time.

At this point the roof and spire are completely destroyed and the stained glass is lost

it’s awful. It’s awful to look at. It’s a horrible loss to all of us. Being sad is normal and you don’t have to feel stupid if you feel sad. 

It’s been rebuilt before and it’ll be rebuilt again.

drove 30 minutes to get to this cafe and barely start my term paper for ap lit ! it’s been a really great spring break even though i had to get surgery.. but my college decisions are coming back and my friends called it my “victory lap”

i’ve recently adventured further into my schools library (i want more space to spread out when i work) and ummm i love it here???

i’m usually in the library a couple times a week but only to tutor, so this weekend has been really refreshing.

08.11.2018; planning day, trying to get on the rythm of my new timetables. my mornings are shorter, but it’s so refreshing to be able to do things after work, i can even study!

also, today i have another date with the french library guy, so i guess that even if i’m not studying tonight that kind of counts as language practise hahaha i just hope i’m not too dead after my shift.

oct 7 | My 2019 diary was delivered last week and I have never been so excited for a new year to roll around! I have been so busy with my new job and preparing for exams that marathon training has kind of fallen to the wayside. Thankfully today it is raining so I won’t feel guilty for staying inside all day with a cup of coffee and my contract law notes!
