Is there any better feeling than stumbling upon a character that sucks in the Exact ways you need them to at this point in your life
well i guess now is the time to start promoting my nathalie emmanuel as jesse reeves agenda
iwtv season 4 is the one situation where i would be ok with using the unreliable narrator excuse to do a lazy retcon of the entire previous season where they're just like yeah lestat made all that up. crazy right. anyway let's get back to what really matters (ten vampires forced to sit around a table and listen to anne rice redhead #4 tell a long ass story about ritual cannibalism)
nickname poll
So currently I answer to my full first name (which I usually introduce myself with) as well as two nicknames/diminutives plus my last name when people mistake it for a first name. There are two or three other nicknames I've also gone by in the past. I'm perfectly fine with this, or neutral at minimum-- I have a common name and have had to be flexible with how I'm distinguished for my whole life. I also don't feel a deep and fundamental connection of my name with my identity, though I think going by another name entirely would confuse me.
A number of friends have been appalled at me being called names I don't say are my name. Which is really weird to me, although I'd go to battle for anyone else who was getting either deadnamed or called something they didn't want. But this perspective seems surprisingly common!
How do you feel about being called something other than the name you introduce yourself with?
I think it's fun if people give me (non-derogatory) nicknames or shorten my name
I don't care if people call me something else and will answer to it
I'm mildly uncomfortable or annoyed but won't make an issue of it
I HATE being called something else and will always correct people
Nuance in tags/Vanilla extract/I'm bald
(losing consciousness) did my show used to be good? it feels like a figment of my imagination
there’s a world where tvl had goth music and gnc gabrielle and onscreen wolves and the french revolution and nickistat discussions of good & evil and magnus's white supremacist beliefs and armand chopping off nicki's hands and lesmand incestuous brothers who hate each other and dm slowburn with flashbacks and a proper exploration of louis's grief and real loustat conflict and a meaningful revisit of the trial and lestat taking accountability for his actions and akasha waking up and the talamasca doing literally anything at all and a framing structure that made sense AND lestat serving rockstar cunt but in a thematically appropriate way. and that world is so beautiful
does anyone else feel like we need to raise the standard for writing quality across all mediums like right now
I want to want something really bad then get it
anyway i think the night island miniseries should be a standalone white lotus spoof in which daniel and an inexplicably australian armand have to run a luxury hotel amid a series of increasingly ludicrous mishaps while trying to hide the fact that they're vampires from the guests and staff
Fareed live streaming the torture session is literally the most hilarious part of that whole scene to me, he's on his little laptop in a zoom meeting with all his other ethically dubious scientist friends giving updates on what's happening.
Who's on your zoom call Doctor Fareed!!!
marius being at the long table as one of the people lestat failed would have made sense if they'd actually had the conversation about armand where he told lestat never to make a child vampire. but they didn’t do that so whatever i guess
learning that AMC cancelled the akasha final concert scene mid-production explains a lot about the tvl finale
remember what they took from us
Assad Zaman as Armand / Christopher Heyerdahl as Marius de Romanus
"rolin hates writing about identity" well then maybe he shouldn't be writing amc's interview with the vampire
