I just want to point out how amazing and exciting it is to see that nintendo is showcasing POC with darker skin in these games.

Considering that it’s essentially confirmed now that this region is based off of Hawaii it’s expected that many of the main characters would be native Hawaiians and excitingly that seems to be the case!

Even with Unvoa being loosely based on the culturally diverse, New York, we didn’t get much in the way of representation, so the inclusion of these new characters is extremely exciting! Nintendo has been getting better with representation and I’m really grateful for this change. Right now it seems like both the professor and possibly the rival for this region are POC!

EDIT: we can change our main character’s skin tones in Sun & Moon!
