❝ i’m savin’ you from feelin’ like absolute shite tomorrow. ❞ the words are accompanied by a sigh. they would probably be amused — truthfully , they had never seen her this drunk & giggly before — but time spent around areum made them feel … well , kind of bitter. and as she continues on with her drunken ramblings , she ends up speaking on the source of that feeling. he doesn’t really want to talk about it , even though the two of them are overdue for some closure — but not now while she is drunk as all hell. ❝ you’re not dumb , areum , you never have been. ❞ their own hand reaching up to wrap their fingers around the hand patting his cheek & hold it between them. ❝ you just … listen to your folks a bit too much is all. but this is really a conversation for when you’re sober , love. ❞ it is a bit jarring at how much truth spills from her lips with enough liquor. they had figured she wasn’t really happy … they recall that both resigned & sad look in her eyes the day they broke up. the resignation is what stuck with them ; like this was something she may have grown used to. ❝ no , no ! i’m cuttin’ ya off & won’t hear any complaints. take your water & i’ll drive you home. we can talk about this on the drive to yours , yeah ? ❞
“no, no. i don’t wanna go home.” areum slurred as she tried to lift her head up again. though at this point, she felt like her head a giant brick, waiting to plop down onto the floor of the bar. nearly falling off her chair as her face now pressed into his arm. eyes opening and closing. her sight beginning to blur. becoming less aware of things as all the shots caught up to her body. “it’s dark and lonely over there.” her bottom lip pushed out into a pout. “too quiet. i’m by myself all the time. it makes me very sad.” another confession leaving her lips. she never liked being home alone, despite of what her sober self would say. “i’m all alone.” she hiccuped and tried to sit up again, only to stumble some more.
