I loved it when Arnav Singh Raizada went all “In your face stupid outdated customs. I’m goddamn Arnav Singh Raizada and I can make knickers drop by one lift of my right eyebrow. YOU bow down to ME.”

People often skip over this but part of the reason I loved Arnav so much was BECAUSE he was “disrespectful” and disregarded tradition. The man had his beliefs and he stood up for them. There is no right or wrong when it comes to belief, faith and tradition. Be it his relationships, his personal faith or his philosophy in life, he did what he wanted and society be damned.

Very honestly, that is exactly the kind of person I aspire to be. The person who doesn’t give a fuck. Sure he participated in the occasional ritual, even got married with all the paraphernalia. But that was only to make the people HE loved happy. Not the world.

With all his anger management problems, thick-headedness, arrogance and trauma— I’d still choose him over ANY of the other goody-two-shoes male protagonists out there who can’t seem to say a word in front of their moms/other random aunties and relatives/neighbours even— to defend their stand or that of the ones they love, or believe to be right.

Of course it helps that he looks like THAT.
