“Hello, cousin,” Ariana says, cheerfully, when he enters the room.

“Ariana,” Garrett replies, tilting his head at her. “Anders.”

Anders grunts, Ariana hisses and tsks. “We don't speak to the furniture, Garrett.” She then contradicts herself completely by whipping her head around to Anders and barking, “Are you slowing down!”

“No, Commander!” Anders barks back and his speed increases noticably.

“Dearest cousin, if I may be so bold,” Garrett begins and Ariana sighs.

“Our favorite healer slept through his patrol and subsequently made Ser Howe miss his as well,” Ariana explains and it doesn't take a blood mage to figure out what they were doing that distracted them so severely. “When questioned, he sassed me, so now he's being punished.”

“I see,” Garrett says, raising an eyebrow at Anders and then shaking his head. “Have fun with that.”

“I shall!” Ariana chirps. “Did you need something?”

“Hm? Oh! Yes, the King is here, he wishes to...” he doesn't get a chance to finish the sentence, because Ariana is already standing and snatching the bowl off Anders's back.

“Dismissed,” she barks, before running out the door.

As soon as she's gone, Anders collapses into a heap and breathes a sigh of relief. “You gonna be alright, my friend?” Garrett asks, nudging Anders with his boot. Anders gives him a tired thumbs up. “Good enough,” Garrett mutters and wanders off to find Fenris.
