Was looking into Spencer twin theories and I'm stuck on one thing- does anyone have any theories on why the Hastings would adopt Spencer but not her twin or why Mary wouldn't have mentioned it?

I can get on board with Mary being involved with the twin's plans, genuinely trying to find a theory on the Hastings though!

Same. I get what you’re saying, don’t worry. Hanna isn’t in my good books right now but I do want her and Spencer to be able to work this out. I don’t want them to fight, not that I’d blame Spencer if she chose to hold a grudge.

She did. She cheated on toby with Wren. She was the other women twice. Ian and Wren.

As for the “other woman”, yes, she was in the broadest definition. She was a teenager who was taken advantage by two grown adults who knew better. Ian serially dated/kissed/hooked up with underage girls or females that didn’t know they were being filmed. Wren went after Hanna as well, who was underage. Yes, Hanna kissed him first but she recognized it as a mistake but he still pursued her. And wasted no time going after Spencer later on.

The only instances that are remotely similar is she had very quick kisses with Jonny and that British guy. To me, she was emotionally checked out of her relationship with Toby when that happened. Now, that doesn’t make it okay, but it highlights the difference between situations.

Spencer never did anything like Hanna did. Hanna gave Spencer her permission and then willingly kissed Caleb. She was willing to put Caleb ahead of her friendships. Spencer wasn’t. She’s been ready to break it off the moment Hanna changed her mind.

Hanna cheated on her fiancé, kissed an ex and possibly ruined his new relationship with her best friend. Agree with Spaleb or not, you can’t tell me Spencer ever did anything like that.

Not to mention, they’re in their 20’s now. Hanna and Caleb should have made a more adult decision. Infidelity isn’t “grown up” like Marlene would have us believe.

I never said he didn’t. Don’t worry, I’m not just blaming Hanna. But I do think her betrayal will be worse than Caleb’s because of their friendship. I’m completely aware Caleb initiated it and he’s now the biggest fuckboy on the show.

I honestly don’t know why the writers did this. It doesn’t fit Hanna or Caleb to be cheaters. Hanna is willing to risk her life for her friends. Then show that she would risk her friendship with Spencer and her engagement. Then have Caleb blow up at Spencer like that towards the end, wtf? And Marlene thinks cheating and hurting two people is romantic. Marlene said. “We finally have a love triangle if Hanna survives.” That’s all she wanted to do.

I don't think Spencer cheated with Wren coz they'd already broken up. But she did kiss the English guy when she went to look at the university and she also kissed the guy who lived in the barn - so she did cheat on Toby twice & admitted that to one of the Liars when the trials were going on. I don't agree with what Hanna or Aria did, I think Marlene thought it was really romantic, I love the ships but their reunion could have been much more tasteful.

I’m starting to think Mary has been around since at least the episode where Spencer finds the dirt in her bed. In the episode after that, 4x24 on Netflix, “Jessica” looks spooked when she looks outside and sees the cops. Why would Jessica be fearful of seeing the cops outside?? Mary on the other hand, might have a reason to be shook if she knew she had her twin sister’s body on ice somewhere in the house 😳. When she’s told they ARE going to exhume the body, her facial expression looks concerned…like she clearly knew it wasn’t Ali in the grave.

Right after this, CeCe makes moves to have the body dug up. Now that we know of Mary DRAKE, we can assume CeCe must have known something about her mother…they were probably working together.

Ohhhh that's interesting! I'd like to think they've been colluding. I like the idea of Mary tipping Cece off. I posted something a bit back when it dawned on me that Cece had said she thought it was Ali in the grave, and yet she dug it up, dismembered the corpse and started mailing out body parts - like the tooth necklace. I think it would make more sense if she didn't know it was Ali - but it's disturbing either way! 😂

Season 4 Episode 23 (Netflix)

-“Jessica’s” comment to Spencer after Spencer found the pile of dirt in her bed. 😳

I love going back to watch previous episodes after a finale airs. You notice things that you completely missed before. Damn Marlene! 😫 “Jessica” was also behind Spencer in her room later in this same episode!! This makes me freaking wonder was this Jessica or Mary?! Just when tf was Jessica really killed?! 😳

I think there's a good few times where Mrs. D has been unbelievably suspicious & acted out of character & I wonder as well if that was Mary! I think she's been lurking for quite some time... I wonder if the two ever got confused at Radley? In the books it was Ali with the twin, Courtney, and they made a switch at Radley so the innocent twin ended up there then they switched back. There's soo many opportunities!

If A.D is Uber A does that mean the twin (Mary) isn't? It also means they're not Charlotte's killer either. They're just vigilantes. Can someone clear up the point of the Mary/Rollins plot for me?

Because it feels like we were looking for Uber A, and Charlotte & Jessica’s killer. But we still don’t know either. We just know that the DiLaurentis family is messed tf up… More than it was originally. Unless they’re all part of one big A Team? I really hope this folds out into a bigger plot because I’m grasping at straws. Marlene said earlier that Emily comes back with a big secret thar folds out into a main secret. So… Her eggs. But… Nothing more has been said about that. I just.. arghhhh.

Also, why the hell didn't Mr. DiLaurentis pipe up and tell Ali or someone that Charlotte was their cousin not sister and they had a secret Auntie that was locked away? What the hell does he have to hide? Why would he hide it?

I’m really confused. And the more I think about it the less I seem to understand. :-/

The person who plays Rollins is actually British....

Welsh. The accents are a lot different. I’ve looked up vids of Huw speaking normally, and it sounds like he altered it for that scene. I’ve pointed it out because I think he was deliberately imitating Wren’s accent. Either that, or it's because the quality of the stream I was watching was piss poor.

Wren

So a couple of things..

Firstly, I keep seeing people posting stuff like, Rollins has a British accent therefore probz related to Wren. C'mon now guys, I know we’re a tiny little island compared to the USA, but we have more than one family living on this slab of rock. 😂

Secondly, I do hope him having a god awful imitation of an English accent is relevant, and if it does relate back to Wren that would be amazing. I have a suspicion that Wren quite possibly knew about Mary long before this season..

Thirdly, I have a legit question… Rollins and Ali started dating while he was Charlotte’s therapist… Mary said he proved he loved Charlotte by marrying Ali… So why would he have started dating Ali in the first place if he loved Cece so much?..

Also, if Mary Drake really didn’t want those files to be seen… They’re friggen paper. Why didn’t she just burn it? Why go to all that trouble to hide it? Light a god damn fire.

And I’m guessing A.D means that we’ll be adding another branch to the DiLaurentis/Drake family tree. Considering Ali only ever seems to cameo every couple of episodes, her family causes a shit storm for the Liars. But I’m really hoping that Wren Kingston isn’t his real name and if there must be another god damn DiLaurentis, let it be Wren.

I don't think he's from the part of England he's trying to imitate :') I'm trying to find out at the moment where abouts in the UK he's from so that I can figure out if he's trying to imitate Wren's accent & seeing if it's relevant. But seriously, listen to Wren's accent then listen to Rollins - you'll hear a difference. :)

So I wasn’t shocked at the reveal of Mrs D having a twin as I had already theorised that and was definitely expecting it. What did shock me was a thought I had that really made a lot of sense to me. So here goes…

Let me take you back to season 1… Do you remember the story that Ali told Hanna about the two twins in the kitchen ? One twin stabbed her sister after arguing over who gets to play with a doll. If you don’t remember here’s a link to the video of it:

After seeing Mary Drake’s (Mrs Dilaurentis’ twins) Radley admission form it gave me a thought that tumbled into this giant theory that I now strongly believe. Mary Drakes file says she had violent outbursts where she would lash out and throw things. This made me think of the two twins that argued and one stabbed the other. Maybe, this wasn’t a story after all and what really happened to Mary and was the reason why she was sent to radley ?

My theory is that like the story Ali told Hanna. 25 years ago when Mary Drake was admitted to Radley and Mrs D adopted Charles Mrs Dilaurentis and Mary were arguing, but not over a doll. Over Charles. Mrs D suggested that Mary should check into Radley as she was concerned about her mental health and Charles’ safety. Mary is very angry and sees this as like her sister is trying to take her child away from her. Mary lashes out and stabs her sister ( Mrs Dilaurentis ). Mary is then seen as unstable and dangerous and this is the reason why Mary is then sent to Radley and Mrs D adopts Charles. Because Mary is unstable,Violent and is unfit to look after a child.

This is very messily written as its 3 am here but feel free to leave any criticism or questions if you have any :) I might try rewrite this properly.

When did they say that I may have missed it ? I had a look at the ages & according to the websites Charlotte is 30 now. Mary was admitted to Radley 25 years ago which would have made Charlotte/Charles 5 years old at the time.

Haha I'll have to wait for the episode to come onto Netflix, but I think they said it when they found the documents. They pointed out that Charles wasn't Jason's older brother coz they were almost identical in age & then said about her having him in Radley. This show hurts my brain. 😂
