Missing school spirits so much i got back into drawing

oc intro: iris!!

this is my school spirits oc, iris!

- she died when she was 26 in 2005 trying to break up a fight between two students. one of them shoved her backwards and she slipped and hit hear head on the edge of a beam

-> her key is her sketchbook, which she slipped on. she’d dropped it on the ground to break up the fight

- she was one of the art teachers (i like to think there was 2 and then a media teacher), and she did go to split river briefly before her family moved to new york

- she feels a bit of disconnect from the other ghosts cause she’s not really in any of their age groups

- i love her dearly

OKAY OKAY OKAY. I HAVE A THEORY

This still (along with the trailer and a few other stills that have been released) seems to indicate that the reason why Superintendent Hunter-Price is this season's big bad is because she's going to be advocating that Split River High be demolished and reopened at another location. I think this plotline ties directly into Mr. Martin's ominous warnings about a "great evil" and "spirits who aren't like us."

The ghost world is heavily tied to the living world, so I believe that if the place where the place where someone dies is demolished, it cuts off their ghost from accessing their scar, thus preventing them from crossing over. But i think the relationship between ghosts and their scars might go deeper than that; maybe being cut off from their scar causes ghosts to degrade mentally or lose their sense of self, becoming the "other spirits" Mr. Martin talks about.

Two oher reasons why I think this theory works:

-it answers the question of "What's haunting the town of Split River?" that the Trinrud siblings said was the core of s3. It isn't just a specific place that 'haunts' the town, it's the systematic erasure & denial of tragedy and trauma.

-it ties Superintendent Hunter-Price to ghost plotline both literally (what she's doing is a direct threat to the ghosts) and thematically (she's the latest iteration of the 'darkness' that haunts Split River)

but that's just a theory...a GAME THEO--

Yuri choosing to talk only to CHARLEY after decades of silence like that’s some crazy down bad shit. Like it’s not talked enough how Charley gave him the courage to actually get out of the room.
