So I’m still working on watching FMA Brotherhood, but not as far as I would like to be because my busy schedule with classes and shows is insane. Hopefully I’ll have a second review out on Ouran High School Host club (which I’ve finished atleast 10 times😝) soonish

Yuri On Ice!!! Aria Reviews!

To start off my Review series I will start with my current favorite series, Yuri On Ice!!! Yuri On Ice began airing in October 2016 directed by Sayo Yamamoto and Written by Misturo Kubo. For those who have not seen it, this show is about Yuri Katsuki a Japanese figure skater after loosing his first finals is debating whether it is time to retire. When to his surprise his idol Russian skater and five time gold medalist Victor Nikiforov arrives at Yuri’s family hot spring resort saying he intends to be Yuri’s new coach. Now he must train for the World figure skating final and be ready to go against his new Rival Yuri Plisetsky, another Russian Skater new in the Senior Division but well know for his win in the Junior division. This show I found to be extremely enjoyable. With only 12 episodes it is a quick watch (at the time of my posting this, I’m crossing my fingers for more), so I watched it once with english subtitles, then again with English dubbing, and I am currently watching it in English again because I have no self control. Often it’s talked about how the show shows the effects of anxiety in its characters, which at least for me makes them fairly relatable. Almost anyone can remember a time in there life where they failed and were left completely unsure what to do. Also THE SHIPS! If you are a shipper there is a high likely hood you’ll enjoy the show for the deep connections characters make with each other. I must say probably the best part about the show is the characters, with all of them having interesting and fun personalities it’s nice to spend time with them. Now being a figuring skating anime the skating must be done well, and I feel it was. The programs seen are very beautiful to watch and the system used for the competitions seems to be very close to what’s used in real life.( I am not a sports person so I don’t know a ton about it but from recently watching more real skating they seem to match up well.) Obviously there is no perfect show, at times the animation can feel a little lazy, and with so many fun characters and only 12 episodes it leaves me feeling like some where not given enough time. I would definitely suggest it to anyone who enjoys anime and has spent time enjoying the genre, but it may not be the best for a first time anime watcher. But even still I love the show and can’t wait to see more.
