“ luciana, look! aren’t these matching rings super cool? ” with a wave of her hand, arielle invited the other to take a look through the glass window. she had mixed feelings about vintage jewelry, it was rare for something that’s not worth way too much than one could usually afford to catch her eye, but there was something about these rings that made her stop and stare. “ sunburns are the worst, ” arielle complained, lightly tapping one of her shoulders with her index finger, then sighing. “ but that’s not going to keep me from enjoying this beautiful weather. i’ll try to stay under the umbrella as much as possible, so how does spending the afternoon by the pool sound to you? ” ( @princexgabriel​ )

arielle cleared her throat. ”  among other things, ” she admitted, then ran her tongue over her lower lip. “ she’s like a little sister to me and i want her to be happy. i’m sure you can understand my concern. ”

“ i mean, it’s not like i’m an expert either, but what harm can sfogliatelle do? we’ll be fine. and in case anything happens, there’s nothing the cleaning team can’t solve. i think. ” she scrunched up her nose a little bit. “ i still need to pick up the ingredients, so come on. i gotta make it up to you for whatever you dropped too. what did you want to cook? ”

“ don’t let my mother hear this, but i’ve never liked her. the only reason why i know all the lyrics to her songs is because that’s the main music being played my parents’ residence. ” if her mother hears that, she’d probably say something about undebatable taste. “ rich people do stupid shit with their money, does it really surprise you? ” there were countless ways of letting go of bottled-up anger, breaking stuff some people couldn’t even afford in the first place was a stupid way of showing off the lack of brain.

“ and the journey. ” at least according to their instructor. she hoped she didn’t understand french, otherwise she’d be very disappointed by the fact that neither arielle nor freja seemed to believe that yoga was a lifestyle, not just a way of stretching out muscles. “ of course, let’s hope i can make it to the green juice. i suppose i neglected stretching over the years and i surely regret it now. ”

“ i did, yes. i was nearby when it happened, ” arielle agreed with a nod. “ he was talking to lucien and somehow, his wine ended up on his shirt. i don’t know how it happened, though. as far as i know, neither arnauld nor lucien are clumsy men. ”

what a good turn out of events when his eyes laid upon the familiar figure of his friend & a smile spread across his face and he did not think twice before wrapping her in a tight hug. it made him almost forget the groceries splashed on the ground before kneeling to stop them to roll far from them. “nah, it’s okay, i can get another one.” he pointed out before step away from the door. “now, did you say sfogliatelle? don’t tell me you have some on the making.”

as soon as she found herself wrapped in gabriel’s arms, she pressed two air kisses against both of his cheeks. it felt like forever since the last time she saw him. “ that doesn’t mean i can’t feel bad about it. ” being clumsy was not a trait of hers, but she seemed to have this problem quite often lately. “ i do, and you’re officially invited to help me make them. i hope you remember the recipe better than i do, i doubt whatever i have on my phone is going to be very helpful. ”

Between his obligations as a fleet commander, as a prince and as a host, he had little free time. Seeing his fiancee felt like another chore.  ❝ I’ll take the coffee. Thank you. ❞ He sat on the nearest available chair as she instructed him to make himself comfortable.  ❝ Or tea if you have some. ❞ He actually preferred the latter.         

arielle nodded in agreement. “ twice a week it is. i hope it wouldn’t be too much of a bother to give me a prior notice on the day before of the meetings. twenty-four hours should be enough for me to clear my schedule. ” as much as she tried to switch to a colloquial language, she couldn’t. this engagement was a contract and contracts meant business. and that required formality in her words. she still needed to adjust to this new lifestyle of an engaged woman, but she was not going to neglect her country and her job. to avoid that, he had to give her a clear schedule of the meetings, so she could organize the rest of her agenda. 

“ please, suit yourself, ” she invited him, placing a medium-sized wooden box filled with different tea types. she knew absolutely nothing about him, she couldn’t choose what tea to make by herself and risk making a wrong choice, so she was going to let him pick what type of tea he wanted to drink and she would make a mental note of it.

one of the few good things about being dragged to phuket was most certainly the climate. he didn’t exactly hate the cold of helsinki, but there was something special about the heat. lounging by the pool managed to boost his ever so glum mood, even if he had to do it in solitude. so when a leggy blonde appeared next to him, it was definitely only a good thing. “being seen with the town pariah? how brave of you, but i suppose i can’t stop you.” he smiled. company was always preferred, and hadn’t inari said he should try to be more sociable? arielle was far from the worst person to have as company. “what brings you out here on this lovely day?”

she could have used her own private pool and stay away from prying eyes and people she didn’t know, but that’d mean she’s way too close to her office and she didn’t want to risk giving into the temptation of going back to overwork herself, so a public place should do the trick. “ i’m not usually one to pay attention to what people say, particularly not to the names they like to give to other people. ” rich people got usually bored quickly and they often used defamation as a remedy, but it didn’t concern her anymore. a person’s title and wealth meant nothing to her and neither did their reputation. “ i’m trying to keep myself as far as i can from my office and enjoy the sunlight for once. you? ”

“ it’s surely overrated, but i’d advise against saying that out loud. people still worship édith piaf to this day like little maniacs. ” she had nothing against the little sparrow, classical french music was part of her heritage, but she was far from being a fan either. “ yeah, i would rather not. i like my current house, it’s starting to grow on me. but i think there might be a certain place where you can pay a large amount of money and destroy tvs and laptops and stuff like that. a waste of money and electronics, if you ask me. ”

to increase his habits in the kitchen and kill the boredom that seemed to luck upon him, the prince decided to take a walk down the nearest grocery shop to pick the essentials for the meal he was going to ( risk ) cook. whilst too occupied checking the ingredients list once again, at the exit of the shop, his shoulders stumble with another and the bag of supplies fell from his hands, now worried to grab the other to keep them from fall. ‘ sorry ‘ he mumbles. ‘ it was totally my fault. ‘ 

arielle figured out she could use the little time she had to spare to treat herself with something sweet and she had been craving sfogliatelle for a while now, so it seemed like a good opportunity to practice some baking. she was busy checking the recipe she discovered a few years ago, so she didn’t notice somebody else approaching her until it was already to late. “ ah, merde! ” she exclaimed, her eyes glued to the groceries that were now rolling on the ground. then, arielle rose her head and looked at the man she just hit, eyes widening in surprise. “ gabriel, oh my god! ” a large grin spread all over her face, her features instantly lightened at the sight of him. “ no, it was my fault. actually, i blame the sfogliatelle for this, let me help. ”

situated in southeastern france, halfway between nice and monaco, villa clos saint-martin is the official residence of the grimaldi de valois family. the villa rises to face the blue waters of the bay, sheltering the royal family from prying eyes. photography is strictly forbidden near the villa and so is walking too close to the shore, because of the private beach that comes with the property.

villa clos saint-martin can accommodate a total of fourteen guests in its seven guest bedrooms. it was built in the belle époque architectural style and it blends stone and ivory-colored concrete in its construction. it fuses the verve of the sixties and the simplicity of futurism into a unique, modern style. all of the rooms have white, black and gold accents with a hint of ebony brown every here and there.

during her stay in monaco as a child, arielle grew up in this house and watched it change every few years. redecoration was a must if their family wanted to keep up with the latest trends. what she loved the most was the opening to the beach, she could reach the shore in only a couple of minutes. all the bedrooms have their windows facing the beach for privacy and security reasons. it is the most magical at night. not just once she found herself on the balcony, listening to the calming sound of the waves crashing on the shore, it was the only sound that disturbed the silence of the night. sneaking up at night was also highly encouraged, it was difficult to resist the call of the sea.

down on the beach was where arielle felt the stars were the most beautiful. whenever she felt uneasy, she would take a walk barefoot in the sand, letting the wind gently blow not only through her golden curls, but her worries as well.

this villa had seen many more house parties than the eldest grimaldi de valois members would have liked, but they took place every time they were away for diplomatic or personal reasons. who wouldn’t attend a party in a royal residence? only the wealthiest and finest people had set foot in this place, but nobody could expect less from the hosts. the monegasques didn’t come to play, particularly not when they had a chance to show off their money and expensive taste.

“ sadly, there’s no such thing as la vie en rose everyday. or any day. ” arielle raised the glass to her lips to sip, lightly scrunching her nose as she felt the burn on her tongue and down her throat. “ i ddn’t feel like working out tonight. drinking sounded like a better idea, but if it doesn’t work, i’ll take your word and try some kick-boxing tomorrow. ”

“ i don’t recall. it’s not like i could take a vacation anyway. ” it was addicting. once it got in your blood and you had a taste of what overworking yourself meant, you were doomed. or at least that’s what happened to her. ” i would say no, but i’m afraid you will come up with something scandalous. not that i’d really mind, but i think i’ve had enough attention drawn to me for this month. tell me what you have in mind. ”
