Jirou was very shy at times and often didn’t like the social interaction that came with friends. She enjoyed people’s company but it was never really all that special. Well, this was until she met you. You are a class 1-C exchange student from England, whose quirk was all about the constellations and stars. It wasn’t a powerful quirk but it was very pretty to watch in action.
The first time you and Jirou spoke was when you needed a guide to find your class. You were struggled to find it and asked her for help. This was where Jirou took an interest in you. Your gentle eyes and soft voice, you were a little bit shorter than her and it honestly made her feel a little protective over your smaller frame.
It had been a few months since your first interaction and you two often talked on the phone or spent time studying in the library. It was peaceful and kind relationship but Jirou felt a little more towards you than just friends. Her friends had noticed her little attraction to you, she talked about you an awful lot and became more interactive when you were around. This attention and affection only grew as time went on.
You were also attracted to Jirou, the way she treated you made you feel special. She may not be the most physically affectionate friend but she definitely expressed it with her words. An example of her ever so carefully picked words was when you had accidentally tripped over your lace, she didn’t laugh at you when you fell instead she spoke softly and helped you up.
“Are you hurt?” She asked with a concerned look. Although it was a kind gesture and most friends would do this. It felt special and you held it close to your heart.
Turn back to today, you two had planned a study session together in the public library. You were extremely excited for this event, you had hyped yourself up for the moment. Once you finished your class you rushed towards 1-A to meet her. You waited a few minutes before she peeped her head out of the door. You giggled at the strangely goofy look on her face. But that quickly changed as she grabbed your wrist and pulled you in the opposite direction to the library.
“Jirou!” You cried, not knowing what was going on confusion infiltrated your thoughts. “We’re going the wrong way!” You continued yet received no reply. Jirou looked focussed, like she’d set her heart on something and simply had to tell you. You could read her expression like an open book even from her side profile.
You arrived a small little bench near the outskirts of the campus. Confused as Jirou patted the seat beside her. She began to fidget in her seat, she didn’t dare look up at you. Her face growing redder by the second. She didn’t know how to approach the situation at all, her mind was a mess trying to come up with words that would make sense. Once again she grabbed your wrist, pulling you towards her a bit. You were a bit suspicious about the sudden need to have close contact but your brushed it off as a comforting mechanism. Jirou only had one of these moments in your first week of being friends, the inability to come up with words that made sense. You had an idea that she was just thinking on how to phrase it. As much as you wanted to pat her head you knew full well to give her time.
Five maybe ten minutes had passed of Jirou looking up at you, opening her mouth then wallowing down in embarrassment. You gently rubbed her thumb with yours, that seemed to bring her back.
“Sorry i’m trying to think of what to say…Oh fuck it.” In a sudden switch of tone, Jirou gently grabbed both your hands. Holding them tightly in hers. “Y/N, we’ve been friends for a long time and I don’t know if this would be appropriate but overtime I started to feel as if there was something more between us and if there isn’t i’d like there to be. What i’m trying to say is, is that I like you. A lot and not platonically romantically but you probably already knew that. I- Uh Yeah.” In a jumble of frantic emotions mixed with words. She looked down at her legs, embarrassment washed over her features, gently, you moved your hand to hold and cup her cheek gently rubbing it with your thumb. The soft and warm texture made you melt.
“I’d love that. For us to be more than just friends.” You stated, Jirou’s face almost blew up as she wrapped her arms around you. It was a warm fuzzy hug that was so comfortable you could melt.
