@ariyanamu-blog
I attended both Art Fairs, Art Miami as well as Art Basel. Initially I was inspired by the vibrant colors many of the Artists used in their portraits. I was also inspired by and interested in the idea of mixed media, and the idea of using and utilizing objects around me that I wouldn’t normally use for my artwork. For my final, I wanted to stray away from representation and work towards an abstract piece. For the background I used Dioxazine Purple, and Grumbacher Red Acrylic Paint. I used my brushes and cloth to create texture. I then thought more on the concept of texture and decided to sew on flowers all over the canvas. I’m not quite done yet, I really wanted the flowers to cover the canvas. I used gold highlight from my makeup set and gold paint from my watercolor set for more detail. This isn’t the product I envisioned when I first started this piece, but I feel I’ve reached a goal in the sense of finishing a piece that I started regardless of it not being perfect.
