HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN???

Does anybody remember when the Walgreen's one was released? All that I remember was that it was too long ago. She's finally back now with a new or rather old design and she looks amazing!!! The sculpt on her armor looks immaculate as does her belt! Her head sculpt is entirely new too right? I know the hair is different and it's flowing to her right side a bit, it's a really nice detail. Her sword is opaque this time so there hopefully won't be too much trouble with paint scraping because it was AWFUL on her last release since it was painted on translucent plastic. Another good detail is black on the palm of her left hands for the absence of armor which they didn't have to do but it's nice attention to detail. Then there's the lenticular circle thingy as a call back to the toys of old. I usually hate these but if Yana is on it, that's a different story. Anyway, this certainly beats the custom I made and I can't wait for it. Don't forget that there's a new Kitty and colossus 2 pack coming this year too. Us Magik lovers are being given so much! NOW DO DOUG NEXT!!!!!!!!!!

SHE'S FINALLY COMING!!!

I knew it would only be a matter of time for Magik, I felt it since Fortnite added X-23. It's such a good time to be a Magik fan :))))). You KNOW I'm buying this. I LOVE IT!!! Maybe even Luna too if there's a good bundle with something exclusive in it that I want.

With pleasantries out of the way I need to vent about something. People on X love shitting on this (Yes I know, go figure) and saying Magik looks like shit. Obviously, they were expecting Marvel Rivals design specifically because that's what leakers said but that was just wrongful assumption. But like, this is just what she looks like and it looks great though maybe the shoulder armor could use more spikes. But anybody who has read comics she's in knows this is just what she looks like. I hate using the "never picked up a comic book" line but I feel like that's important here. I like that Rivals brought even more into the public eye but sometimes it has drawbacks which of course no fault of the game or all of it's players, just of some of them. Luna does look a little off to me though.

Playing Thing in Marvel Rivals feels like playing jump rope to me. Now this is probably because I suck or play him at the wrong time but it sometimes feels like I'm waiting for the right time to jump in, get into the grove and start singing Miss Mary Mack. Until then I'm just bumbling like a fool not really helping.

Another Emma Frost based rant

I think a huge part of the problem with how people perceive Emma Frost is that they stay hung up on her past with the Hellfire Club which is sad because she's just grown so much since then. I think she's a much better and happier person who expresses herself in different ways now but no matter what people will still just reduce her down to the White Queen of the Hellfire Club and that just denies her of all of her development. Surely many don't keep up with comics so they may not know much outside of that but comics still continue even when you don't read them and that's important to keep in mind. Really it's kind of just a problem with comic books in general. People stop reading and when things pull from newer material they get angry and frustrated by what they don't know or recognize.

Eh, modern Emma sucks because all of her "development" isn't earned and it makes no sense for her to be Headmistress of the Xavier School or running Krakoa.

She should honestly go back to being The White Queen of the Hellfire Club, since she hasn't really evolved past that. We're constantly told she's reformed and redeemed, yet she continues to prove otherwise.

It would be like if the X-Men were being buddy buddy with the likes of Mr. Sinister or Apocalypse, someone who has caused nothing but strife for them and others only to one day accept them as their ally and then leader.

(Yes, I know, they've alreadydone that, which only highlights how bad Krakoa era X-Men are.)

No one really trusted Mr. Sinister though and he wasn't on the quiet council because they were friends with him. Hell, most of the council and even people like Doug couldn't even trust Charles Xavier. You seem to deliberately ignore that the point of the council was to allow mutants of different opinions, backgrounds, and standings to have a say in how things were run. That's why half of the them were primarily villains. As well, the point of Krakoa as a whole was that all mutants were allowed to be there until they fucked up bad enough again as Krakoans to be exiled. The whole point of the era was second chances and plenty of mutants came out better because of that. On the topic of Emma again she doesn't run Krakoa herself and even stepped down from the council to rest at home and wear sweat pants. As far as I'm aware, the worst thing she has done morally in the Krakoan era was getting revenge on Sebastian Shaw for what he did to Lockheed and Shaw deserves everything bad he gets, he is a huge piece of shit. The way you seem to completely miss the point of everything the 2 of us said goes to prove my final point in the post about just waving off and dismissing everything that changes the status quo just because you don't like or are unfamiliar with it. You really just want to restore the status quo to something from the 80's because of bullshit like she "didn't earn it" just because you said so.

I'm losing my mind here. Is there actually something wrong with me? Like am I a broken person for genuinely liking this whole design? I think she looks absolutely amazing and I was astonished when I saw the reveal but now with all the shit everyone is talking about it I feel like shit for it. I never see anyone like it so that must mean something is physically wrong with brain for not being able to perceive what everyone else can right? I mean that's how it feels. How can this be universally hated but I seriously think it's really pretty. I feel like this happens with everything I like. I even thought Wolverine looked fine. It's stressing me out. I don't want anyone to point out what they don't like about it. I know already, it's been said enough.

And of course there it is AGAIN a complex character with intense backstory being reduce to nothing more than a fucking COLOR she wears. Forget who she is as an INDIVIDUAL PERSON with her own life and her own personality- oh wait never mind the color she wears IS her personality apparently AND being a skinny woman and of course the final personality trait FASHION. Imagine having decades of story and all you will ever be to people is a color you wear and a specific silhouette. Imagine that is your characters legacy and the only thing people care about.

When did this become socially acceptable? It's one thing to not like a design but what the fuck is this? Also call me crazy but I don't think they make base skins ugly on purpose for any reason. I think they make their own designs for the base skins to give their designs an identity representative of their own game. You know like how the use default skins on merchandise. It won't feel like Marvel Rivals merch if they just use looks identical to comics.

Like this shit is so fucking crazy man. People are tearing in to someone else's hard work to such ridiculous degrees for the most benign reasons. I feel so damn bad for whoever designs characters in this game because they always get shit on like crazy. Even just the "worst part is people will draw this design" thing is insane. Let me preface this with a warning that this is a rant about people hating Emma Frost being given new, exciting designs. If you won't like that then don't read.

Nobody is ever allowed to do anything creative with Emma Frost. Every time something new is tried people get pissed about it. When she wears black during the mutant revolution arc symbolizing rebellion it's "She's the WHITE QUEEN, she can't wear anything else!" Someone designs her to have blue accents to break up all the white and doesn't give her a cape it's "She's the WHITE QUEEN, she can only have pure white! Where's her cape?! Her iconic looks always have a cape!!!" I swear this only happens to Emma. She's into fashion so let her try some new shit. I mean she was made in 1979 and she's still around so why not take a bit try a different look. Nothing but white gets fucking boring. I feel so bad for artists getting their designs shit on for not being bland as fuck especially when it's mostly based on a title from a group she isn't even in anymore. If she looks good as fuck (she always does) then who gives a shit what color she wears. Yes, there are actually people who get this mad about her not wearing exclusively white and not having a cape.

As a bonus to the previous post I share this grab from the same comic book shop. Just as I had thought that I had seen all the Magik offerings available, I found this tasteful magnet by the checkout. There were only 2 of these left so I feel lucky that I was there before they were gone. I had intended to visit that shop for a while but never had the time until recently. When I finally did I was pleasantly shocked to see they had so many Magik collectibles. To be fair 3 is a lot when you expect nothing more than comics. On a final note I have to say that I am in awe of her deliciously rock hard abs.

A couple weeks ago I found these gorgeous art prints in a local comic book shop. There were many I wanted to buy but naturally having found not 1 but even 2 Magik prints the choices were easily made. However, I did find myself unable to leave without the Quiet Council of Krakoa as well. It too will be framed eventually but Illyana was very much a priority.
