What passing-bells for these who die as cattle? Only the monstrous anger of the guns. Only the stuttering rifles’ rapid rattle Can patter out their hasty orisons. No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells, Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs, The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells; And bugles calling for them from sad shires.
What candles may be held to speed them all? Not in the hands of boys, but in their eyes Shall shine the holy glimmers of goodbyes. The pallor of girls’ brows shall be their pall; Their flowers the tenderness of patient minds, And each slow dusk a drawing down of blinds.

Obligatory I’m not dead post!
I have been absent from Jean for a long-ass time, not for want of trying, but for lack of seeming interactions. While I decide whether or not to archive Jean and move him over to a fresh, clean blog, I’ll be most likely found on @fraegdulfr or @buccanccr!
“Y’know I can see you, right?”
“‘Re you gonna hurry up? Or are you gonna be debatin’ whether or not it brings out your eyes all night?
A sharp glance, all broken glass and splintered bronze, screeched unto the other, delivering the soldier’s irritation where form and tone would not suffice.
“What part o’ no escaped you?”
