It’s been 97 years since a nuclear apocalypse killed everyone on earth… Almost.
Wellven Apocalypse AU: Raven Reyes is a junior in college the year the bombs start falling. Widespread panic and a media blackout ensue, the borders between states are closed, and when Raven finally manages to make it home, she does it to find there is no home to return to — her city destroyed and her mother dead. With looting in the remaining towns and bombs still falling left and right, Raven resolves to follow an impossible rumour that a small band of survivors have taken refuge in the mountains.
Along the way she encounters another survivor, Wells Jana, who claims to be searching for his best friend, Clarke Griffin, and her boyfriend, Bellamy Blake, after being separated during a riot. When Wells suggests that they travel together, Raven can’t figure out what his angle is, but she needs someone to help her navigate the rough terrain with her brace and he definitely needs someone with the know-how to fix up that antique radio he’s brandishing, so if he wants to share his supplies with her, she’s sure as hell not going to stop him.
The two set off to find sanctuary in the wilderness, avoiding looters and crumbling military enforcements as they go, but end up finding a lot more sanctuary in each other.
