COVID-19 has still not stopped its spread and intimidation of individuals to this day. The world's rising number of covid cases is still uncontrolled. People still get bad news about this COVID-19 virus from the television or radio news. Television, radio and newspaper helped us to stay updated on what's happening and provides us enough informations about COVID-19 and how they can manage themselves to become safe this days.
During the pandemic, social media also became our information provider. Getting informations here is much faster than on TVs or radios, since most people are soaked in using mobile phones and social media accounts. Social media platforms enable families to obtain immediate information on what to do to prevent COVID-19 from spreading. More informations about COVID-19 are given to them everyday and they can get a lot of new informations here than what is seen on TV or radios.
It has also helped frontliners to spread awareness worldwide. Providing people with reports on their progress and information about the rising and reducing number of cases every week.
Social media also serves as a platform for government agencies. The meetings are conducted via live in social media because there is a pandemic, so they can spread their virus prevention strategies and what needs to be done in the future more effectively to individuals.
Social media and modern technologies have made it easier to spread information across the world, unlike previous technologies used in news and current affairs, such as radio and TV, where disseminating information is terrible and not easy to spread because of the lack of technologies used. Social media has a great influence on society. as a result people gain new knowledge about other things and are given every opportunity to deliver informations needed in battling COVID-19.
