canon is what happens in the text. e.g. merlin tries to poison morgana

a headcanon is a fact that you have personally made up as an elaboration of canon. it is your invention. e.g. i think morgana and gwen had a teenage lesbian situationship before the events of canon. or, i think modern morgana would love evanesence.

an interpretation is how one reads the existing text. it is not an invented fact nor is it a headcanon, it is a reading. e.g. i think merlin tries to poison morgana out of misplaced self-hatred. or, i think that one line was delivered with suppressed malice and shows a nuanced relationship.

fanon is the general fandom’s accepted headcanons and interpretations that elaborate or recontextualize canon. e.g. merlin is a badass waif and morgana is a bitch.

these are all different words with different meanings.

Also, for an interpretation to be valid it needs to be based on the text. It cannot just be a vibe. One can disagree on readings of the text, but if someone comes with quotes and/or historical context and you just have vibes, then sorry, your interpretation is inferior and may in fact just be a headcanon.

Okay as you know or may have noticed I have changed my artist name (it's Etih or Etìh now), so I was wondering if I should keep this account only as an "archive"/fanart place and move my original art to another blog ? Or should I just tag my old art with my old name ?

The thing is, as much as I loved drawing fanarts for RWBY and other things I like, I definitely want to keep it separate from my original art now. I see 2 different kind of things :

- my main art account with original art, rare fanarts as gifts, tributes etc.

- another account where I can doodle freely anything that's not related to my original stuff (fanarts, memes...)

Because when you mix the 2 it's just so hard for your work to be known as people will just ask for fanarts (which can be understandable if you love an artist's interpretation of characters but it's still frustrating when you try to present YOUR characters)

The thing is that my name would also be different between the two. For my main account I want to dissociate from the Étincelle who was known for NND stuff. But this this username is also way too close from my new main name (sorry it's confusing lmao) so for my sketch/fanarts account I might just end up using a silly nickname my girlfriend gives me (Jujuba lol)

That was a lot of rambling bur basically :

- Etih would be for my own work, my stories Eshkà and The Cat's World, nature & fantasy illustration etc

- Jujuba would serve as Étincelle's archive and also a doodle/fanart place so I can sketch silly stuff when I feel like it

I am sooo tempted to get Warhammer books as french translations, read them as my way to start re-learning french with a translator at one hand and a dictionary at the other, and develop zero grasp between what vocabulary is regular french and what is Warhammer, and if I ever encounter a native speaker I give them psychic damage.

Much pondering in this weeks batch... Many.. pondering one could say... 🍀🐞

I was thinking about changlings in the darklands, like I'm pretty sure Notenrique's body was modified to be... That of a baby.. so like.. do they GET to age in the darklands? And when chosen to go to the surface do they get reset to the "baby" form, or are they permanently kept in stasis while they're in the darklands.... Much thinking..

I was also braining on bulars horns, then i realized ive never drawn bular despise liking him a LOT as an antagonist!! I like bular bc he kinda comes off as evil in a very juvenile way.. you CANNOT convince me he's like.. above... 20.. in human years.. AND ALSO. MORE PONDERING, i HAAATE placing human ages on non-human characters bc like, while yes this character may be at the mental age of __, but they have also lived for ____ more years than they are.. so its very abstract bc you can be an age but extend mentally... Liek Douxie, hes 19, but has lived 900 years of experiences.. idk.. verry strangee.. mutch to think about.. 🧠🧠
