I made a fanfic!

I worked on this off and on for, like, two years and I finally finished it.

It's a Harry Potter fanfic but my interpretation of Loki (from Norse mythology) replaced Harry thanks to one of his kids deciding he needed to reincarnate to get a better life.

Also I don't support JK Rowling at all, I have made this out of spite and because, despite all its flaws, I sort of actually like the Wizarding World and hope that I could make it better from my writing

This was inspired by the songs "And Now For Today's Sponsors...!" and "MIKE, the BOARD, please!"

They sound SO much like Mario Party music, and when I started thinking about it, ch3 reminded me a lot of Mario Party for the GameCube, which I played a lot of as a kid. Specifically, I drew inspiration from Mario Party 7 since it was such a large part of my childhood. Tenna's design also just screams Mario Party host to me, maybe because he reminds me of MC Ballyhoo. The board is based on Neon Heights from Mario Party 7.

Hot take but praise is a good tool for encouraging healthy behavior. Positive reinforcement is good. Relying exclusively on punishment to change people's behavior is both cruel and ineffective. If someone does better than they did yesterday, let them know you appreciate it, let them know that they're improving!

"Don't praise anyone for doing the bare minimum" is a shitty take that prioritizes your sense of superiority over the actual betterment of people. I understand that things shouldn't be as bad as they are, and anger can often be justified, but you need to get over the propaganda that kindness is naïve, that cynicism and bitterness are intellectual. Withholding praise from those who haven't caught up with you doesnt actually help them, it doesn't motivate, it doesn't encourage, it only discourages them. It breeds bitterness and apathy, which are antithetical to empathy.

Growth isn't something you do on your own. People need support, they need community. Bootstraps won't get them there. Kindness will. Do you want results or do you just want to feel superior?

i was out with my ex once when three *very* young queer kids, like thirteen years old, came up to us and asked us “are you guys, you know…” and did the limp wrist thing at us. one of them loudly exclaimed that it was so cool to meet other queer people in real life. this was in public in an unbelievably conservative area - we didn’t even feel safe holding hands because we were surrounded by Mormons. we got lucky that day, but I’m begging y’all to remember that the world doesn’t work like the internet. other queers are real fuckin people. don’t do this shit. This used to be standard operating procedure not even ten years ago: NEVER OUT OTHER QUEERS, even if they’re supposedly already out. Never assume that it’s okay to let third parties know that so-and-so is queer. Ever. You never know when you’ve found the one uncle with the heart condition that they can’t bear to risk telling, or the one neighbor who’s just threatening enough that they don’t mention it around, or even the grandma that they haven’t gotten around to mentioning it to yet. You might have just ruined a very important milestone for someone, or you could have put them at actual risk of harm.

Also… stop freaking assuming. If you don’t see a pride flag on them, please don’t just assume. You can’t tell ANYTHING about a person’s gender or partner preferences by what they’re wearing on any given day, what their hair looks like, or whether or not they’re using makeup. You legit cannot, and you look like a jerk when you try.

In Norse mythology, Hel is the enigmatic goddess of death and the sovereign of Helheim, the realm of the dead. She is the daughter of the trickster god Loki and his first wife, the giantess Angrboda. Hel’s brothers are the wolf Fenrir and the world-serpent Jörmungandr, both central figures in the events of Ragnarök. Through Loki, she is also a half-sister to Sleipnir, Narvi and Vali.

Hel’s appearance is as striking as it is haunting. She is often described as half-living and half-dead—one side of her body is that of a living woman, pale and beautiful, while the other is decayed and corpse-like, with darkened, rotting flesh. This duality reflects her dominion over both life and death.

Odin, terrified by what Loki’s children would become in the future, cast Hel into the underworld, granting her authority over those who died of sickness or old age. Hel’s realm is not one of torment but a cold, shadowed reflection of life, where the dead find their final rest under her somber yet impartial rule.
