Might I request a Rivarmin ficlet where Armin and Levi happen to both be in Taco Bell and since Armin is too shy to talk, let alone flirt, with Levi he uses the little sauce packets that have cute things written on them? Please and thanks :)
(This is clearly a modern AU, so I’m taking a bit more liberty and making it so they don’t really know each other that much. Just sort of seen each other around)
Armin quickly turned his attention away from the door.
Levi just entered with his friends Hanji, Mike and Erwin. They all seemed to be talking about something. Armin was too far to hear it though.
It didn’t matter. He wouldn’t have been able to hear over his heart beat anyway.
He had seen Levi around town quite a bit. He tended to be at the library a lot and if he wasn’t there working he could be found at the park. He didn’t really seem like the “Outdoorsmen” type, but he always seemed peaceful in the park. He watches the sky a lot.
Armin jumped slightly when he heard Levi’s voice near his table. He and his friends were at the counter placing their orders.
“I’ll just take a soda.” Levi was leaning against the wall beside the counter, listening to Hanji explain their latest project in detail.
They soon got what they ordered and moved to a table. They weren’t very far away. Levi had his back to Armin a bit.
Armin really wanted to talk to the dark haired man, but he just couldn’t. He was shaking as it was, and he hadn’t even made the slightest eye contact with the man. He doubted that Levi even noticed him.
He sat at his table fiddling with the sauce packets they had given him with his lunch. As he twirled it in he hands, he remembered that they had writing on them. Generally the writings were pretty flirty too.
He started looking through the packets, trying to find what he wanted.
After selecting the packets he wanted Armin spent probably a good five minutes trying to psych himself up for the task of actually tossing them over to Levi.
Levi was surprised when the first packet landed in front of him. He hadn’t been paying attention, so he wasn’t really sure where it had come from. He grabbed it to move it out of his space and saw that it said “Hello” on it. Well, that was random.
Another one landed after a few minutes. He glanced around in time to notice the blonde a little ways away turning. He narrowed his eyes slightly, unsure of what to make of the situation at the moment. This packet read “I’m a HOT T R U 2?”. Levi smirked at this one.
Another landed. This one had sharpie on it, filling in some blanks. “I Armin take you Levi…”.
Armin. That name was familiar. Now that he thought about it, he realized he’d seen the blonde before in the library countless times.
Erwin, Mike and Hanji were viewing this event with great interest, trying not to do anything that would make Armin nervous. They were starting to get very invested in what was going to happen next.
When the last packet landed, Levi had to snatch it up before the others did. “I can tell you want me”.
Armin kept his face turned away from Levi. It was setting in now what he was doing. And he felt a bit mortified. Maybe he should just leave. He could hear voices coming from the other table, talking hushed.
He’d blown it. He knew he had. They were probably talking about how pathetic and weird he was. He started to gather his things, wanting to crawl under a rock and never come out again.
Then a sauce packet landed in front of him. It was face down, so he couldn’t see what it said.
He reached for it and turned it over. “I do”.
His heart skipped a beat. He assumed this was in response to his last message.
Holy shit!! Levi was interested in him too?!?!?!?!
He glanced up when a hip leaned against his table. He looked right up into muted blue eyes that looked almost gray. Levi had a faint smirk on his lips.
“I just started thinking that sauce packets kinda limit a conversation.”
“Yeah… It was kind of a stupid idea, I guess…”
Levi shook his head. “It was cute. Definitely more original than anything else I’ve seen in a while.”
This seemed to ease the knot that had been developing in Armin’s chest a bit.
Levi continued to do most of the talking. “Do you have any plans for the rest of the day?”
When Armin said he was free, Levi suggested going to a book fair in town. It was supposed to be a really big event with a lot going on. Armin agreed and that was that.
Who’d have thought it could be so simple?
(That’s where I’m going to leave this for now. I thought about continuing, but I didn’t really feel like posting two SUPER long posts in one day. There’s still time though. Hahaha)
