he  takes  a  long,   slow  sip  of  his  (  cheap,   lukewarm,   half  -  priced  )  beer  &  does  his  best  to  stow  away  the  overwhelming  desire  to  hurl  his  half  empty  bottle  at  the  wall  —  rage  sweeps  through  his  veins  like  a  hot  afghan  wind,   arid  &  unrelenting.   it  scrapes  like  sandpaper  against  his  insides. 

still,   three  too  -  long  years  after  wedding  number  two,   brian  itches  to  break  his  hand  on  teeth,   aches  to  bury  his  grief  &  resentment  in  the  next  warm  body  that  catches  his  eye.   yearns  to  dial  an  all  too  familiar  phone  number.
