I’m Les (pronounced like the word less). My pronouns are he/him, she/her, shi/hir (pronounced as shey/here) and fae/faer!

I’m 25 as of writing this (turning 26 next year). I’m also aroace, sapphic, nonbinary (gender neutrois specifically) and intersex!

This is my dedicated blog to discuss my faith mostly though! I’ve been a revert since 2022 and am still practicing. I’m a disabled black indigenous niqabi and will blog about my journey with face veiling and such here! I am a Sunni Muslim (who practices Sufism specifically) too.

Trevor Dubois, an indigenous man who was in the hospital for chemo following a brain cancer diagnosis, was murdered by Saskatoon hospital security via. forceful restraint on Friday over a plastic lighter that police are publicly calling an “imitation firearm”. The cops are now trying to make it seem like Trevor had methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia in the hospital room with him after security murdered him to justify what took place.

here’s the saskatchewan health authority’s most recent statement regarding the incident. there’s a lot of talk but nothing of substance is being said. his family just wants answers and yet they haven’t even been told his time of death. his family also believes that the “imitation firearm” in question is a bright pink and green cigarette holder/lighter, but police refuse to release a photo of it.

according to those who knew him, he was a kind person who always went out of his way to help the less fortunate. he was seeking certification as a social worker and was heavily involved in his community. his family also says that he was against anything that has the potential to cause harm to people.

Highly highly recommended this book!! (I had to scribble out the library info lol). It has its faults but for a book written in 2010 it’s pretty impressive and still holds up today! It explains the topic, main schools of thought, and cites all the evidence in a clear way even if you’ve never read the Quran while still being complex and analytical.

Queer Muslims have always existed, and Islam isn’t inherently homophobic just like Christianity or any other religion. The Quran always been about equal rights, celebrating diversity, and explicitly states that you cannot make something haram if it is vague, and that doing so is haram.

A reminder for my queer muslims out there

Allah swt loves you, He accepts you.

Do not let others hateful and otherwise[morally] wrong interpretations stop you from worshipping the almighty.

I want you to think of it this way: Would the all-merciful, all-accepting send you to jahannam for simply liking the other sex? For identifying as the opposite(or different) gender from what you were born with? Despite all you have done for the sake of Him? Not the Allah swt I know! "O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into races and tribes, so that you may identify one another. Surely the noblest of you, in Allah’s sight, is the one who is most pious of you. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware." (49:13)

The fact you identify as queer and your existence alone is a sign from Allah swt.
