He sort of stopped wading around in the pond. “Stuffy? I’m not stuffy.” It was hardly noticeable, but his cheeks puffed slightly at what he interpreted as a bit of an insult. “Is that what those hard-heads are saying about me?” Luke and Owen always did tease him for some discernible reason.

"Our lifestyles differ greatly, and I don’t think Owen or Luke quite understand the amount of work I do; simply because it’s not physical work.” He chuckles a bit. “Though I wouldn’t mind seeing either one try it for once.” He continued his wading as she sat down; feeling the water on his legs was strangely comforting.

Noticing his slight irritation at her careless remark, her back straightened and she waved her hands. "No, no! I don't think you're stuffy at all!" She really wasn't making the situation any better. "I just know that sometimes with a job like that, it can be hard to want to deal with people." Though it was true that whenever she had heard Owen talk about him, he teased him for being a bit introverted.

She giggled along with him as he continued, trying to imagine what it would be like. Owen most definitely didn't seem suited to a life of paperwork.

He smirked a bit at her compliment. “Well, thank you, that’s kind of you to say,” he said, puffing up ever so slightly. He nodded. “Perhaps it is an unwarranted worry of mine, but just to make sure, I always make sure that I make a good public image. I want to represent both my father as well as my town in a positive way.” He held his arms around his back as he waded about in the spring. These weren’t usually worries that he’d confide in a regular tourist, but he supposed Melody was close enough to be considered an acquaintance. She seemed nice enough anyways.

"Well, just make sure you don't end up being too stuffy." she giggled. "You may be good at what you do, but you have to stay approachable!" She vaguely remembers Owen teasing him about it, though he seemed perfectly fine to her.

Walking over to the pathway, she found a dry spot to sit, though not before checking to make sure it wouldn't shift underneath her. Her eyes casually followed Gill as he walked around in the water, and looked up into the trees every so often; all the while slowly kicking her feet under the water and quietly humming to herself.

He grinned a bit. He was happy to hear that she was enjoying her time here, since he was as well. Then again, he was always happy to come to the spring. “I’m glad to hear that,” he replied, wading around a bit.

She walked closer and asked him about why he wanted to be mayor, so he thought about it. “Hm.. well, my father is the mayor of the town, so as his son, I am probably the number one candidate for taking up the position. Besides that, I really do care about the town. I want it to flourish and prosper, and I want to do everything in my power to ensure that it does just that. I want the people in town to remain happy and satisfied, and I want it to stay a clean, clear, and beautiful place. I want to guide it along, and what better way to do so than to become mayor?”

He took a few steps. “Granted, after my father steps down, I will have to be elected in, so there’s still that small chance that I may not get the opportunity. But I’ve been training a long time for it, because I wanted to make sure I was suited for the position. Perhaps even the best suited.”

She listened to his answer, one he had obviously thought quite a bit about, and watched as he walked around whilst talking. He seemed to have the tendency to be long winded, not that it was a bad thing. Pushing off the wall, she replied, "Well, you seem to be doing a good job of it so far! Even if you aren't mayor yet.♪" Compared to Trampoli, this town was fairly large, and it looked to be in prime condition.

"I don't see why you wouldn't get the position." She slightly tilted her head, as if it helped her think. "I mean, it doesn't seem like anyone else here would be up for the task. Though it's good you've worked so hard for it.♪"

He was surprised to see that Melody jumped into the spring, and covered his face as the splash came up. He chuckles lightly at her playful behavior, feigning an accident when it obviously wasn’t. He pulled his legs up again, removing his shoes and socks before rolling up his shorts before easing his legs into the springs to wade around in it.

In the midst of patting off the water on her dress, she was surprised to see that Gill was stepping into the spring too. She smiled at him briefly before wading around in the water herself. She walked up to one of the lion heads and ran her hands under the stream, wetting her face lightly with the water. Sighing happily, she turned to him and said, "You're right. This is really nice.♪"

Walking closer, she asked him, "So, what made you decide to be mayor?" She leaned against the wall closest to them, and looked inquisitively. "I assume it isn't something most people would have as their first choice career."

What is the grossest thing you've found in the baths after someone left?

People have accidentally left underwear there before. I suppose the grossest thing is cleaning hair off the ground!

Sometimes. I usually only join them if it’s towards the end of the day. Usually I’ll take it with Eunice, if it’s going to be someone.♪

Not wanting to intrude on his seemingly private moment, Melody declined sitting next to him, instead standing a short distance away. “I can see why you would.” she mused. “I would have too if I had known about a place like this.”

Laga was indeed special. But it didn’t have the atmosphere that this place did.

((Laga is the name of the Whale Island in RFF if you didn’t know. She named it herself, hence Laga Springs.))

He kicked his feet slightly, just kind of enjoying the atmosphere. “You know, you can dip your feet in the spring if you’d like. It’s therapeutic, though probably not as much as a bath or a hot spring soak, but still,” he said, looking back at her. He’d like it if she could relax here, just as he was.

"If you say so." At his insistence, she took off her boots and plopped down next to him. She lightly sloshed her toes in the water, though this proved slightly difficult given her short stature. Eventually, she stood back up, took off her overcoat, and jumped into the spring with a splash. Turning around to face Gill, she grinned and giggled, "Whoopsies.♪"
