instead of doomscrolling on a short-form socmed site like twitter or bluesky (since I deactivated them and also uninstalled insta and tumblr from my phone) I got up and cooked a massive amount of delicious country-style potatoes for breakfast and to take with me while I'm cat-sitting. I also meal-prepped dinner for those days too. :D

In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:

Taylor Farms Earthbound Farms Little Salad Bar (Aldi) Marketside (Walmart) Kroger House Brand Target private label greens Costco salads and greens etc Trader Joe's chopped salad kits and fresh produce Fast food: McDonalds, Taco Bell, (Yum! Brands), Chipotle, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Olive Garden, Top Golf, Red Lobster, Burger King, etc.

This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.

We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.

people misusing the lesbian label are more afraid of being called "the identity police" than they are of being appropriating, bi/homophobic, or even outright conversion therapists and I think they should become more afraid of being the latter.

I've decided that ultimately I want to break away from my old Q friend group after all. I will just say that I want to get away from the brainrot of doomscrolling instead of being fuuuully honest that my politics have changed so dramatically (well actually it's more like I'm honoring my core values and want to finally align my life with them without caving to my people-pleasing conditioning) that they wouldn't want to be involved with me if they knew the full extent of my "betrayal" anyway.

so anyway, I've made a totally new discord account and I've deactivated my bsky. yay! I'll get to adding my new friends and servers when I'm feeling less lazy, but just knowing that it exists makes me feel so much better. now the only big socmed accounts still remaining that I plan to get rid of soon are insta and reddit. eventually, the plan is that I also get a new phone + phone number so that these people cannot even get in contact with me.

we rightly recognize the pressure placed on lesbians to be open to dating and sex with transwomen (and shame and social ostracization for not doing so, or for being vocal about not doing so, is a form of pressure) to be conversion therapy rhetoric. I think we need to use those three words more.

but I think we also need to go a step further and be explicit about the fact that conversion therapy rhetoric is rape apologia. that the pressure, shame and social ostracization above is a form of coercion.
