The moon is for feeling, the sun is for healing.
„You'll get over it...“ It's the cliches that cause the trouble. To lose someone you love is to alter your life for ever. You don't get over it because 'it' is the person you loved. The pain stops, there are new people, but the gap never closes. How could it? The particularness of someone who mattered enough to greive over is not made anodyne by death. This hole in my heart is in the shape of you and no-one else can fit it. Why would I want them to?
— Jeanette Winterson, Written on the Body

“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”
— Carl Jung, Modern Man in Search of a Soul
I actually love the concept that being your authentic self will scare away the people who aren't meant to be near you.
first of all what the fuck
like the biggest thing i learned this year is no one has their shit together. everyone has skeletons in their closet. i don’t care how composed or put together they may seem. everyone has majorly struggled at some point. we’re all just trying to get by. this is a big wake up call bc not only am i practicing way more compassion, w myself and w others, but i also don’t idolize people so easily now. everyone is imperfect & everyone has the capacity to let you down. i don’t know why this revelation is a peaceful one but it just is
