Weekends and late nights at work have thrown my routine off the past two weeks. Eager to get back to lifting on my regular schedule. Need my iron fix 🏋🏽💪🏼.

No, it is NOT raw (steamed thoroughly)! These days I'm steaming everything and loving it. I don't eat the same things everyday.. No chicken breast on the daily either.. It's unsustainable for me for personally.

Eat what you enjoy and makes you feel and look good. Enjoy yourself! Let loose a little. Moderation is key, and dieting for life ain't the way.

True story 😂. Do more of what makes you happy and less of what makes you unhappy. It's really quite simple. If being active makes me happy.. I make time to do it frequently.

Having a crappy day? Go lift. Lift something heavy. Empower yourself with strength, nothing can weigh you down!

No matter how hard, painful, or scary it might be, your unhappiness to hold onto whatever it is, isn't worth it. Do things that make you happy. Then rinse and repeat!

A sprouts employee gave me sample of these hairy little rambutans, and I bought some home. They're delicious and not too sweet with fun texture! Very much like a lychee..

First time swimming laps since 2012. I forgot how much I love swimming 🏊🏼💦💦!! Did sprints to start and finished nice and easy. Now, time to grub!

If you're ever feeling down, the simple act of smiling through it can miraculously start making you feel better. It can trigger biochemical processes associated with the movement of your 'smile muscles.' 

Try it when you're sad or upset the next time around. Walk around with a smile on your face, and hold it as long as you can. It just might improve your mood.

The stair mill, not the stair master, is one of my favorite piece of fitness equipment. I typically perform a 1:1 or 2:1 intense-work to easy-work ratio on this machine. For example: 1 minute fast, 1 minute easy. As you adapt, try reducing the duration of your recovery periods.

This cannot be more true during timed, steady-state cardio sessions 😂! If you find cardio exercise dreadful, try doing it outdoors, in nature, to awesome music, or listening to audiobooks or educative or comedic podcasts. I find that that makes the time fly much faster!

Here's another goodie.. The author was the premise for the documentary, "Searching For Bobby Fischer." If you've got an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and progression, this gem is for you! The principles laid out here can be applied to just about everything in life.. including health and fitness.

I love med ball tosses. Why? Because there's a squat involved and they kick your ass, especially at high reps or combined with other aerobic movements. If you're short (like myself) and you're aiming at a high target, then there's a squat jump involved 😂.

They're great for building lower body strength, endurance, and power.. even hand-eye coordination. Start with 4 x 10 reps 2-3 times a week and increase your repetitions by 5 every week or two.

And remember.. keep your chest up, drive your knees out, and.. #AssToGrass!
