391. Roy was one of the most malleable 'kicks when he was younger and still hasn't grown out of playing up to people's expectations. It's actually one of the reasons he's so good at undercover work: as a kid, he had developed two or three unique patterns of speech subconsciously. How he was seen at school had to be different that as Speedy and even at home, so he learned to adjust to how intelligent, controlled and well mannered people though he should be.

Look, my mom went to school and worked at Kitchen Sink Press with a current art director at DC, so I know this stuff is fucking deliberate. In the past DC, has passed down "lighten their skin or we won't hire you in the future" ultimatums. Even if this isn't the case now, DC has a history of consciously whitewashing their characters, and should be more careful greenlighting errors like that. Frankly, even if they didn't, they have a history of being too white anyway and should be careful regardless.

I suppose?? I don't think anyone who knows anything about color palettes could claim that Connor's skin should look like that in any lighting and even if it could, the lighting they choose betrays a lot about how they want to portray him. Frankly his hair tells me they're not even trying.

Man I say I'm done with DC at least 3 times a day but if I was still in a country where I could buy comics this might be it for me.
