Thank you very much unfortunately I just don't really have any ideas of stories to do with them tbh.

Plus I really hate drawing Batman/Bruce. (No I don't hate him as a character, I actually like him but for some reason every time I have to draw him it feels like a chore idk lol)

Sorry if that's a bad answer I just only really draw when I'm motivated, which sometimes kinda sucks lol

This is one of my favorite scenes ever and it totally wrecks my every time I re-read it. Here's the excerpt from the scene this is based on in Chapter 16:

'Dick stepped up onto the ledge.

“Fly, Dick. Remember? Fly like a robin.” Jason’s little hand squeezed his again, holding him tight. “And then you’ll wake up. With me.”

Dick took another step.

“I’m coming, Jason. Wait for me.”

And he jumped off the roof.'

(There is so much symbolism I have hidden in this piece but my favorite easter egg is the clocks on the buildings facade. Each one reads a different time 4:00, 2:00, and 8:00. A reference to Batman #428 where Jason dies. Clocks are really symbolic in this fic so I kinda had to add them lol)

Hi,

I really like your art and saw you had Jason Todd comic recommendations, just wondering if you have any recommendations for the other robins (Dick, Tim, Steph, and Damian) as I don't know if you only read Jason or read comics in general. I'm looking for a list that's any amount long and is considered in the main time line (aka no flash shenanigans).

I've decided to ask some people here since Google has the whole ai thingy and Reddit is full of spoilers and keeps saying how certain comics are bad (even though some are like 20+ years old) so tumblr seems like a nice place to ask. And easier than tik tok or Instagram lol

*cough* *cough* ok maybe I do mostly read Jason comics haha! Luckily for him there's really only one recommendation after his Jaybin years I find necessary and that is Under the Red Hood (specifically the deluxe edition that includes Lost Days)

For Dick read Batman and Robin: Year one it's really good I love it, Dick is my son in that one. I guess read The Long Halloween and Dark Victory before if you want to do it chronologically lol. Then there is Robin: Year one. Then I kinda just bounced around the Teen Titans era but, the Judas Contract is good. You can also read Nightwing: Year one, it's fun but characterization is a little off but whatever its where Dick calls Jason 'Little Wing' for the first and only time in canon so I enjoy it haha! Then I have the two compendiums of Chuck Dixon Nightwing run, I’m still working my way through it but I’ve heard it’s pretty good.

For Tim I’ve really only read his Robin compendium (very good by the way) and am making my way through Knightfall. I don’t have much in the mainline universe for Damian or Steph tbh. I’ve been trying to read semi-chronologically so I haven’t gotten to them yet. At least as Robin, Steph as Spoiler shows up in the Tim drake compendium and is fantastic!

And for just a random recommendation because it’s truly peak, read Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Batman! They are so good and definitely the best comics DC is putting out currently!

Ok! I just finished scripting a 14 part comic with 130+ panels lol! It has nearly the whole batfamily in it and is going to take forever. So if I drop off the face of the world for a bit that’s why. I’m really excited to share it!

I think they are funny. Tbh I haven't read much from n52. But Jason being magic is hilarious to me.

Curious do you prefer pre-crisis Jason, post-crisis Jason or would you prefer a blend of the two????

All in all I like post-crisis Jason better, there are some really cool highlights in pre-crisis. I like Nocturna and obviously Rena but post-crisis Jay has a much more compelling backstory. Honestly it's the whole reason Jason has really stuck with me is his backstory of growing up poor, because I relate to it.

Do you per chance have any recommended reading order for Jaybin?

Yes I do! I'm actually trying to collect this order in single issues but trust I've already read them all online haha

Batman #408-413 this is the classic origin of Jason as Robin and has so many great moments! Tbh I love this era of comics a lot, they have a nice balance of goofy and serious themes.

Detective Comics #569-574 technically you can read #80-81 as well but I found them a little dull. But this Detective Comics run is literally my favorite for Jason. If you read anything on this list read these!!!

The Cult is such an amazing Batman story! It was one of my first comic reads and I literally couldn't put it down! They do draw Jason like a 30 year old man but you take what you can get lol

Batman #414-425 is great for late stage Jaybin. Yes, yes we can all point an boo at Starlin for making him angrier than he used to be but please read these. I actually like Jason's development in this.

Batman #426-429 (aka A Death in the Family) does this story have flaws? Yes absolutely! Do I still enjoy it? yes. It's wacky and crazy but the Jason moments are really good imo... until he blows up. Spoilers haha.

And if you want an anti-recommendation don't touch Batman and Robin: Jason Todd with a 12 foot pole. It was so bad it made me want to chuck my phone across the room. If that comic has no haters I'm dead! It sucks because the art is so cool but the writing just makes me want to rip my hair out.

Honestly I think jaybin being reckless or angry is wrong because h e was genuinely introduced as the kid happy enough to make Batman laugh on the death anniversary of his parents 😭

I obviously have a lot of opinions about Jaybin and how he should be written but this (in my opinion) is actually the most fundamentally important part of his character! I have gone on hour long rants just about this one page!

People usually know Jason stole the tires off the Batmobile but the important part of that is that it made Batman laugh. It made Batman laugh on the anniversary of his parents death in Crime alley!

But this issue also highlights a fundamental problem with Batman, yeah you heard that right Jason's first appearance challenges Batman ideology. Basically B only goes to Crime Alley to help ONCE A YEAR! The place that suffers from crime the most, Batman chooses to not patrol for 364 days at a time.

This one issue I think perfectly exemplifies Jason and Bruce's relationship. It's actually perfect! Jason (as Robin) was a light in Bruce's life that made Bruce be better. Jason fundamentally changed Bruce, and I think that's part of the reason Jason is so mad post-resurrection because (from the outside) Jason's last sacrifice didn't change B at all.

(also I have my own opinions on Jason's anger, Jason was Robin for about 3 years. And he did start getting angrier over that time. I think it's a little reductive to ignore that and say 'he was happy sunshine the whole time before he died'. It's why I think 'The Diplomats Son' really should be taken into account for his late stage robin character. Jason wasn't the angry Robin but he was a growing teenager who was very justifiably angry at the current systems in place. And who viewed Robin as his only way to affect the world! That's one reason why when B takes Robin away Jason freaks out.)
