god i think one of the loneliest and best tropes in the world is when, in an apocalyptic scenario, people find something to play music on, be it a phone or a record player or a stereo or whatever. like call it cliche and overdone and youd probably be right but i cannot get enough of it!!! it always makes me think like. these ppl are at the end of the world!! and theyre listening to old songs!! music that remembers the way the world used to be!! watching them dance or just sit and listen to the music, with abandoned skyscrapers behind them, rubble at their feet and dust in the air gives me such an indescribable feeling, like nostalgia and loss but also relief, just like i imagine them feeling in that moment!! its so good!! cheesy but art, baby!!!
