If the blog is set up for it you should consider having some mods for the blog so that it can continue running even when you need some you-time.

I’ve received a handful of asks about this, and I definitely wish I could add some mods to help out. Unfortunately, this is my main blog and from what I understand there’s no way to add mods to a main. If anyone knows a way to get around that, let me know. Other art guardians would definitely be a great help.

Hey concerned anon, and everyone else. The last few weeks have been very rough for me, and I stopped updating for a while because I didn’t want it to affect the positivity I spread on this blog. I was hoping I could take a short break just to stabilize myself, but it stretched out longer than i intended and I’m very sorry for that. Especially to the artists that submitted stuff and have probably been waiting a long time for it to be posted.I’ve let down a lot of you and I feel terrible about it. It’s very hard to keep up the boundless positivity and enthusiasm when I’m feeling this way, and the last thing I want is for my encouragement to sound empty.I’m really sorry, friends. I should’ve done better, but I’ll try to start this blog up again asap to make up for it.

So after watching Butch’s Secrets of the Ghost Zone video I’ve become very fond of the new DP lore, specifically the character of Sojourn. However I wasn’t too fond of Butch’s designs for him so I decided to take a stab at it myself and add my own twist to it. @hailsshard and I have been generating ideas for a DP reboot, one of those ideas being if there’s a ghost guardian of time, why not of space? Hence the mild space aesthetic.

So here he is. Sojourn, Guardian of Space and Keeper of the Ghost Zone.

In the middle of the forest

Pitch black, a massive trunk

It’s bark as dark as shadow

Gnarled roots, twisted branches

Reaching towards the sky

They called it

Sacred

Cursed

The resting place of a slumbering god

The traveler, unwary, stumbled

Under it’s branches seeking slumber

Found dreams

Plagued with shadow and madness

Left with vestiges of a primordial fear

Others, more curious

Human hearts insatiable in their thirst

Brave

Foolhardy

Slept among it’s roots

And when they woke-

Eyes wide

Eyes seen true

They whisper:

Offer something of value

Something you cannot bear to lose

A flower red as blood will bloom

Take it’s petals in your mouth

Knowledge

New Critique Update!

After recent events, I've received quite a few very nice asks and messages about critiques, so many that I can't even post them all! Thank you to all who sent those in.

Because of these, I've decided to offer the option for artists to ask for critique when they submit their work! If you want a few words of constructive criticism on your piece, let me know and I'll leave a comment on it. Of course, my critique is far from perfect, and you can choose whether or not to follow my advice! I'll only give it if asked.

Thanks again to everyone who replied to the posts or sent in messages! I'm always trying to help out in the ways you guys need me to!

Yes! Right now the wait time is about two weeks. A little long, I know, but the queue is purposely slow so that followers have time to see and react to each piece! Sorry for the wait, though.

anon was incredibly rude when ur doing all this to give artists more viewers and motivating them to draw. i agree that critique is easier to find, and though it is useful to learn from mistakes, sometimes being told what aspects of ur art catches someone's liking is just as helpful. critique means nothing if it doesn't motivate someone and compliments can go a long way to inspire anyone really. ur doing a great job here, i just wanted to throw a message of support for u and anyone else!

Rude anon has just fallen prey to the idea that being rude is somehow more “real” than being nice.It’s true that I don’t offer critiques, which would mean also saying what could be improved (not “what’s wrong”) about a piece. I think saying encouraging things goes a lot farther in motivating an artist than negativity ever has!
