Nils-Udo (born 1937) is a Bavarian artist who has been creating environmental art since the 1960s when he moved away from painting and the studio and began to work with and in nature.
Even if I work parallel to nature and only intervene with the greatest possible care, a basic internal contradiction remains.
I love Nils Udo very much
photos by mark smith and mark bridger who document, respectively, the fox and the deer who roam london and its suburban environs at night in search of food. the skittish deer tend dine on residential gardens, while the fox look for discarded take out which litters the streets.
there are now 16 foxes for every square mile of london, who share sidewalks with pedestrians and raise cubs in people’s backyards. foxes have even sneaked into the houses of parliament, while another broke into buckingham palace, eating one of the queen’s prized flamingos.
that said, a survey by the london based mammal society found that 80 percent of londoners liked having the fox around, with wildlife experts refuting the claims by some that the population of the animal is either growing or becoming more aggerssive in character.
AHOICIPE
Ahoicipe (ah-hoh-ee-chee-pay, the Lakota word for pride) intends to explore the role of traditional identity in the daily struggle of Native Americans, examining how they use pride of their original culture and traditions in dealing with their dismal objective conditions. While their cultural practices and language have been almost vanished by the various attempts at “assimilation”, the tribal peoples suffer a sort of forced segregation at the very bottom of American society: on every indicator, from the 88% unemployment to the worlds second lowest life expectancy, the reservations stand as Third World islands in the biggest economy on Earth. My project, however, would like to depart from the gritty depiction of these issues common in other works on the subject. By portraying American Indians in a positive light and exploring how they rediscover and use pride as a tool for survival and advancement, I would like to highlight inspiring stories of confident women and men rediscovering and using pride as a tool for empowerment.

Floating Worlds by Catherine Nelson
Catherine Nelson born in Sydney 1970 is a visual artist who uses the digital medium to paint images together into personal and imaginary landscapes. Trained as a painter in Sydney and London and with years of experience in the creation of visual effects for feature films like Moulin Rouge and Harry Potter, she now has dedicates her skills to her own art work combining the techniques from both these worlds into a new contemporary art medium. Drawing upon hundreds of nature photographs, Nelson digitally stitches together each element in a process that takes months to complete. She now combines technique and experience to create these unique and imaginative landscapes, each one becoming its own detailed microcosm.
Art is the only way to run away without leaving home - run with us.

Joanne Leah | on Tumblr (Germany / USA) - Acid Mass
German-born Joanne Leah is a photographer examining her own personal history and childhood memories to create ritualistic images, exploring themes of isolation, detachment and self identity. Adopted at birth and raised in Southwest Virginia, she studied fine art and design at VCU School of the Arts in Richmond, Virginia. Her sentiments toward her own experience of growing up adopted directly feed into her vision of the modern world as alienating.
“When I was a child, I would explore the woods behind my house. I ventured alone, following a small creek. One winter day, I deviated from my usual path. As I walked, I heard a man shout. A pack of barking dogs ran toward me. I immediately dropped to the snowy ground and pretended to be dead. I held my breath. The dogs surrounded me, sniffed and snorted. I had never felt that kind of fear before, the fear of being eaten alive.”
Joanne now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. She has participated in art shows in Brooklyn and Manhattan, as well as being active in her own neighborhood of Bushwick. © All images courtesy of the artist

hey guys this is my family portraits project i’ll be turning into cyanotypes and split toning using ammonia and tea-staining and it will be for my alternative final
ewww
oh hey so yeah guys this is part of the process of cyanotypes, so I take the digital image and invert it, apply a curve, and then I let it sit on a hand-coated paper of cyanotype material and then I expose it to UV lighting for probably 10-20 minutes and then develop it in water, then I’m going to bleach the images and stain them with tea for a split-toning effect so it’ll be pretty cool and fun
