Cops catch suspect red handed stealing french fries from gallery booth at Art Basil!
It is that time of year again, in which thousands of wealthy people, celebrities, poseurs, trustafarian and scenesters descend upon the city of Miami for the international contemporary art expo known as Art Basel. Whether they are indulging in decadence for purposes of an elevated aesthetic, or maybe, just maybe due to a genuine appreciation of creative expression, the weekend has been scoffed at by critics over the years due to its excessive draw of party monsters and corporate sharks alike. Underrepresented artists (i.e. most of them) blast Art Basel as creating a false-pretense of how an artform should be perceived, all the while literally robbing the community of its authentic value all in favor of the dollars of some rich fucks (who don’t give a shit about art). Plus, it costs tens-to-hundreds of thousands of dollars in registration fees to even have your work showcased! Leave it to a truly creative mind to come up with the starving artists’ alternative to Art Basel. John Kilduff is a Los Angeles-based artist who has defied the constraints of conventional craftsmanship through his humorous, off-the-wall interpretations of what one considers “art.” When I was a teenager, my friends and...

The 411 on Art Basil LA Dec 7-10
The 411 on how to participate at Art Basil LA 2017. Spaces are still available! Each space is approximently 12"x12" and 10" high …exhibition space fee is $50 (Art Basel is 50k!)…If you don’t have $50 ….pay what you can….You can ship your gallery to me and I can install it ………What is the name of your gallery? I will be putting up the walls myself….just mail the art! (if you want the works mailed back include a SASE) The walls are made out of white corrugated plastic. Most likely will be using duct tape or double stick tape to attach the works to the walls. I recommend making miniature reproductions of your work to fit in the 1 foot square space. Also, if you want to make a sign with your gallery’s name ….send that too! Please note: there is a chance the works could get wet, muddy, etc. as this event is really being held in my backyard. I will make every attempt for that to not happen. contact [email protected] if you are interested….All booths will need to arrive by Dec 7.
If you are interested in exhibiting in Art Basil LA….in my backyard…….here is the booth fee Paypal link to purchase your booth….there is plenty of booths available…..and if you don’t have 50 bucks…..send whatever you can afford to my Paypal: [email protected]
