Cosplay Awkwardness

One of the most awkward feelings during a Con, is when people come up to you and before you can react, start grabbing on you and hugging you......Like, I did not give you permission to touch me. You treat me like a car and admire me from a far. I don’t know what you think this is but I am not some mannequin that you can try and undress, you know. Then don’t get me started on the people with unsealed body paint, like hey if you know you’re a waking paint brush , don’t come rubbing up against me adding your artistic touches to my build.

Did you notice on Jimmy Neutron in the episode the “the junk man cometh” when Sheen asked about how they could breathe in space, the show creators had Carl singing to keep the viewers from finding out….. How messed up was that?

Hello! I'm working on some armor for a cosplay, but I don't want to use worbla for the breastplate (because of budget and a lack of equipment for shaping it). Is there a way to make a good-looking breastplate without using worbla?

Absolutely, there’s tons of Worbla alternatives! My vote is to just use EVA foam and seal it smoothly. Just make sure to research and read up about how to work with it safely if it’s your first time using it! Here’s a guide on where to buy it online, and it’s also available at places like Harbor Freight and Home Depot:

I’d recommend checking out @cosplaytutorial’s amazing list of armor tutorials, they have some specifically on EVA foam breastplates. And if you want to use something different instead, they have lots of other tutorials and articles on other materials!:

I love it, but modern mirrors and modern cameras (and most old ones) would work fine for a vampire fine. It’s a silver thing : D (in mirrors glass was backed by silver, in some old cameras, silver nitrate was used as a sensitive medium)
