Last month I backpacked a section of the 100 mile wilderness of Maine, one of the most challenging and rugged sections of the Appalachian Trail and one of my major bucket list items. When I say section, I meant to do the whole stretch but had to leave the trail due to a knee injury and dangerous weather conditions (bad combo...) I left for this trail with similar intentions as many others do when they leave to section or thru hike the AT, self growth, exploration and time for reflection. I think I got that in a way that was unexpected. I knew it would be really hard but I didn't expect not to complete the trail. I have a tendency to feel regret and to torture myself over my short comings so I'm doing my best to take this experience as a time to discover that sometimes it's OK to "fail". Instead of feeling sorry about it, draw a silly bear wearing a backpack and laugh it off until you're ready to try again 👍 #illustration #AT #appalachiantrail #appalachiantrail2018 #backpacking #hiking #maine #bear #pun #motivation #art #artistsoninstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BnmJSkZFLCC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=11008x8fq3r9i
