Swamped with work and had little time to draw lately, but I had make an effort to support Combat Core! Combat Core is a Power Stone-style 4 player arena fighter, with character designs by the inimitable Robaato and Alex Ahad.  Ember is easily my favourite! The game is currently on Kickstarter, check out their campaign and shoot 'em a couple of bucks if you can spare it. Mortal Kombat X Hype! The game has been out for a while, and though I’ve been busy playing the game since release, I started finding some time to do more redesigns.

Here’s my version of Cassie Cage! I really love the character, and she’s easily my favourite of the newcomers in MKX. For my redesign I based her outfit on various elements of Sonya’s costumes from the past, but tried to filter it through Johnny’s flashier style.

Here’s Sub-Zero. Like Scorpion I wanted some degree of authenticity to his design, so I tried incorporating some visibly Chinese elements to his wardrobe.

Here's my take on Scorpion. Wanted to go for something that felt at least slightly more authentically Japanese, while also playing up the ghost/demon aspect. And no, the scorpion stinger on a chain tied to his waist doesn't make a whole lot of sense... but it looks cool, I guess. Also he's a ninja, he definitely knows what he's doing.

Here’s Jax. Tried to incorporate some similar design elements to make it look like they actually belong to the same organisation. As for his robo-arms, I always liked the way they were depicted in the second MK movie, so I tried to go for something similar in my design.

Here’s my version of Sonya. She’s one of my favourite MK characters, but I was really disappointed with her designs in MK9, and from the looks of things her costumes in MKX look pretty lame too. I’d like to see something that at least retains some design elements of her old costumes.

Decided to join the Comicon Challenge this year. This is my first concept for Captain Amazon, Wonder Woman merged with Captain America.

More old concepts revisited. This time it's Swedish MMA fighter Niklas. I was very unhappy with how generic his original concept was, so I gave him a bit of a metal twist, as well as a more unique body type. I'm a lot happier with this new direction.

Another revisited character concept. This time it's Ariel, ruthless mercenary for hire. Trying to consolidate a bunch of ideas into more of a cohesive whole.
