Got out for a relaxing and enjoyable walk to and a bit of a hike at Birkdale Ravine today. Sky looked a bit ominous and sure enough, the wind picked up, and it poured down rain. We hid under a huge maple tree, mainly to protect the camera lol! Low and behold, after 20 mins, don’t we see a Mom and young deer walk out from the woods edge! It was such a treat!

Really Great Day!

One thing that I totally Love, and comes along rarely, is the opportunity to do something for someone that is so needed or something so wanted by them, and I can provide that thing for them while receiving no benefit, no money, no pay back, nothing to myself at all :-) The benefit is simply getting a huge high from getting to do something for someone and have them freak out and be so happy!!!! I got to do that today!!!

banding butterflies at Rosetta McClean Gardens.

we learned how to tell a male from a female Monarch, and that the butterfly the guy caught to band was most likely not the final generation that flies to Mexico, but probably the 3rd, which lays one more set of eggs, then the next and final generation is what makes the journey.

I held the butterfly after banding and when I let go, I could feel the strength these seemingly delicate creatures actually have.
