So, I'm sorry if this will make people mad but I've made a decision.
I'm blocking any minors that follow me (past, present and future).
While my blog is not NSFW, I just don't feel comfortable with kids/teens/high schoolers following me on here. I know lots of people don't put any kind of age identifiers in their bio/blog so I'm relying heavily on the honor system that folks will respect my wishes.
I will also be blocking any account that spam-likes but never reblogs, especially those that follow me. I have a couple reasons for this:
-It clogs up my notifs. Yes I know I can filter out "likes" but a lot of times that's how I catch bots so I actually want to keep that open.
-Spam-liking is a pattern I often see in minors (obviously there are adults who do it too and there are minors who reblog, I'm just talking real general), and I already have a personal policy of blocking minors who follow me.
-This site, and artists on it, relies on reblogs so that other users can see things and share it as well. I'm not looking to be "tumblr famous" cuz one: there's really no such thing, and two: I don't want to be "famous". What I want is interaction. It's such a mood / motivation boost to see someone liked my stuff enough to share it with others, especially if they add tags or comments (obviously not required but just an extra boost.) Tumblr does not work on an algorithm like many other sites. "Likes" don't spread the love on here like reblogs do. Just a reminder: reblogs are NOT reposts cuz with reblogs the credit still goes to the original poster.
So just to summarize: For the reasons above, I'm gonna start blocking any account (adult or minor) that only likes and never reblogs, especially spam-likes.
