man i'm. lost in the Griffith Analysis sauce again but fwiw i've also always thought there was Something to the fact that, when griffith is "hallucinating" (i'm not sure if he LITERALLY is or if it's just symbolic of his thoughts, i assume it's the latter but it's easier to point out the scenes i'm talking about if i just call it hallucinating lmao) before the eclipse i think, he only sees these. other versions of himself. i think it's like he's already walled himself off so much by that point he can't even conceive of looking to anyone else (and likewise no one else can help him, because he's actively made himself unreachable; Armor To The Heart and all that), but it's like trying to save yourself from drowning yknow, you just can't do it. and to say nothing of the fact that he can literally no longer communicate with anyone else, which leaves him more isolated than ever up to that point in time. the only thing he knows to do is just the same thing he's always done, keep running to the castle in the sky, which yknow. is clearly not going to work anymore
i don't really think i have like, A Conclusion here other than human connection and looking to each other and not god or the self when faced with Some Bullshit being...themes that are present in berserk but that's not exactly an earthshattering observation to anyone lmao
i can't stop seeing and meeting people that i just wanna be like "you would fucking love griffith" to but i can't because. You Know
falconia being griffith's elf kingdom. his childhood fantasy he built up around himself to avoid having to confront, like. every single bad thing he has done or that has been done to him ever. oh my boy you are in so fucking deep if they ever pull him out of there he's gonna fucking die
loveeee characters who think they're likable but not lovable. characters who know they have surface-level admirable or alluring traits and so make sure to highlight those traits so that nobody looks closer to see what's underneath. characters who know they're hot or clever or cool and use that as a suit of armor so that no one ever gets close to them, because when they strip bare and show their vulnerability they're not any of those things, which means they have nothing left to make up for who they inherently are

do NOT fucking COOK your brother
yeah, eat your appy. freak.
this entire thing is just so wild to me. the way he called charlotte mother of the kingdom and stopped talking when she asked him if he would be the father. it doesn't help that locus quickly intervened anticipating whatever griffith was going to say after her invitation, trying to make the situation less worse which made everything even more embarrassing. i do genuinely wonder if locus will be the one answering on behalf of griffith when the time for their wedding comes as well. if that day ever happens, of course.
